Default RED LIGHT OWNED 2001 MUGEN TYPE-R!!!

DATE : 10/12/2005
TIME : 05:25AM
WEATHER : LIGHT RAIN
ROAD CONDITION : WET
CAR1 : 2001 ACURA INTEGRA TYPE-R
CAR2 : 2004 HONDA CIVIC COUPE

This morning i was on my way to church for early monring service which i go every morning. I was driving and noticed that the lights weren't working properly at the 3way intersection and was just flashing but I still had a right of way since mine was flahsing yellow and other two sides were flashing red.
FLASHING RED MEANS STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw one car coming from the left side but since I had the right away i proceeded through the intersection and next thing i noticed was him right in front of me.
Both of the airbags deployed, car bounced back facing other direction still in shock of accident+impact of airbag. i stood still holding steering wheel tight.
After few moments, i get out all confused and see other guy not wanting to get out of the car. 11 Local cruisers + 1 State cruiser + 2 fire trucks + 1 ambulence came to the scene in few moments. The other party was sent away in ambulence claiming he has heart problem and back pain. WTF!!!!!
After looking through the cars and discussing with other police officers, state trooper comes to me and ask me couple question to verify the situation.
After hearing from me, he told me I'm not at fault because I had the right away and cited other party a citation for 'Fail to stop a red light M1557680(Ticket #)'

Here is my next concern. I went to tow lot to look at how intensive the damage is.
It looks like I have frame damage. Also RIGID 3point strut bar fucked up my other side and firewall too. What do you guys think? You think it's fixable?
If not, I'd probably buy it back to sell the parts but what car would be worthy replacement? It can't be too much more than the Type-R. Currently I'm paying $333 for car. Suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

HEY I am very sorry to see your loss man. For sure you have frame damage and it wont be the same if you fix it. It was a beautiful car, good luck to you.

That sucks! I hope your insurance claim goes smoothly. I would tow the car back to your house and take those spoon calipers off and everything else worth money before insurance takes your car without paying for the additions Unless, you have insurance to cover those parts.

In the future, Yellow Light Flashing Means Caution!

You could always front half the car to fix it but again it wouldn't be the same. With a hit like that the only way to fix would be the front half option. The inner fender wall is fugged and the frame I would be willing to bet is bent.

I'd have to agree with the others on this one. That car does look like it'll never be the same if you did try to fix it.

I'd part it out, get the insurance claim, and then sell off the parts (unless you choose to put them onto a replacement ITR or other car).

G/L, sure hope there isn't any physical issues with you after a day or two.

ouch sorry to hear about that.. well theres always one alternative... you can always make your car RHD.. here in canada you can at least get complete front end clips with the firewall locally :D maybe thats an idea for your R?

damn that sux. and yeah, i wouldn't bother trying to fix it, unless o course you wanted to go RHD. it's a perfect candidate for that.

OT tho, what hood is that?

frame damage for sure, repairable, but probably not worth it. Time to build someting else, s2k maybe? And get some brakes that can stop you instead of spoon bling

fixing it would be more costly than anything else... i would say part it and start over, or maybe its time for a new project??

to tell you the truth if you love the R that much anything is "fixable" it just depends on how strong your degree of love for the R is (aka $ $ $) and if you have the time to invest into it. just my .02

Are those spoon calipers I spy? I'd buy those off of you if they are still in good condition.

UPDATED ON THE CAR!!!

I confirmed with my bodyshop that it's totalled.
When I opened the passenger door, it gave away and wouldn't close again
they told me that front frame is so distorted that it's not even worth doing anything to it.
Now the question is, how much am I gonna get from them?
another thing is how much can I buy the car back from them?
And last but not least, I don't think I wanna build another R for now.
It's just too much to bare even tho it was the BEST car for ME for practicality and performance wise. Give me some other alternatives now.
thanks

I'd buy it back (if it's cheap) strip it and throw everything onto another Integra or a hatchback

Usually the buy back price is around 20% of the value they give you for your car.

driving is a privilege in this country that most people take for granted.

Sorry to see that the car is totalled.

why don't you shut the expletive up and not talk like a ricer?
It's not the matter of how good/well/cautious you drive.
Accidents can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere.
Let's see if you still talk that way when you get in this kind of accident
