Omnipower front camber kit? No thank you...........
I've had this omnipower front camber kit on my car for less than a year, probably about 9 months. Only autocrossed on these about 5-6 times, not really heavy racing or anything and look what happened over time:





This problem obviously comes from the metal/bushing combo being PRESSED into the red metal end peices, and not WELDED on like the factory ones are. This kit made some really ****** annoying noise ever since the day it was installed (correctly mind you) and I could never figure out where it was coming from. A month ago I took off my wheels to clean them and found this...... pretty crappy surprise.
I installed some V2 skunk2 front camber UCAs for now cuz they were the quickest ones I could get, but I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen to those too (they have the exact same serial number stamped into the arm metal).
BTW I've had omnipower sport coilovers, rear camber kit, and rear LCAs and they have all been fine, the bushings look a little worn on the rear LCAs but that's it.
What camber kit do you guys use and any other thoughts on this?

wow, thats bad. looks like my buddy's skunk2's. the bushing only ripped out, not the whole metal part. but then again, the design was the old version.

****, I'm totally worried about my new v2 skunk2 ones. They are the exact same shitty design as these, why can't these companies take the time to just spot weld around the pressed-in metal peice? Doesn't make sense to me......
And I'll be pretty pissed if your ebay ones hold up for longer than these ones....

I dont think preload has anything to do with the camber kit. Garbage is garbage, no way of changing that.

Why dont u get the bushing things welded to the arms? All my friend did was switch out the skunk2 bushing w/ stock ones off his car. As for me, mine came ready to bolt on. You know what I would suggest to people? get oem bushings and install it on ur aftermarket arms.
i dont need to, mine hold fine and best of all no camber wear!

Yes, it does a little. If you tighten the bolt while the suspension is unloaded at full drop when you lower the suspension, the bushing will want to twist inside the arm and cause the press in to fail.. Granted, it shouldn't have done this...

We have been running the Skunk's on our integras for the past two seasons with no problems (these things see a lot of racing) We do check the ball joints and replace them if necessary....
this specific problems seems to be particular to the EK arms because the bushings are mounted horizontally directly to the chassis, as opposed to an extra bracket that points the studs up. the EK design relies on the bushing being press fit into the arm, which requires a good control of tolerance to maintain fitment, which obviously failed here.

Hmmm, that may have been one of the problems, although I did follow omnipowers instructions word for word and preloaded the coilovers but not the UCAs.
I'll look into that for my skunk2 ones right now.........and that's good news that the skunk2's have held up for a lot of people, but ever since I bought some strut bars from them that came with no hardware at all I've been a bit skeptical of the quality of skunk2's parts.

wtf could it be? I thought before it was the arm coming off the bushing hitting the chassis but obviously it's something else. And when the car is up on stands I can't produce enough force to make the noise, it only happens when driving on a slightly bumpy road. Seems it only happens when the car is going up and down.......
Got any suggestions anyone?

so what am i gonna need to do to keep this from happening??? just use my factory bushings?

I would say just take the camber kit to someone or a place that welds and have them weld a couple spots around the metal pieces near the bushings. And install them correctly by preloading the suspension before fully tightening them down.

Thats what my "preload" comment was implying. Its easier to get a jack under the control arm and compress it, that way you can still get your arms in there. Jack it up until the car corner slightly lifts from the jackstands..

yah but you know how lot of ppl love to bash on omni coilovers and preload so it wasn't clear if you were kidding or serious. :-) i'm pretty sure majority of EK installs people neglect to set the suspension before tightening.

Yeah I know, a day before I found out that mine were this bad, I saw someone else on here who had the same problem. So I thought, man I should check mine out......... and this is what I found.
I'm pretty sure that skunk2 and omnipower get their "arm" assembly from the same exact company because they look the same and have the same code stamped into each of the arms.........not good.
