Why?
That site is trash by the way. The d16y8 is NOT rated at 160hp. LoL...
I think the JDM DOHC ZC has the most factory rated hp of a d-series engine, but I could be wrong.

this is a little known secret
i doubt anyone on this site will believe me, but the most powerful and best engine for performance is the d15b8. this motor puts out almost 30 more ftlbs than horsepower and the transmission is geared perfectly for the motor taking perfect advantage of its powerband.
i would get that motor. hands down best swap for a budget honda. best bang for the buck

D16A 140 hp sohc
</TD></TR></TABLE> what the expletive? Theres a D16A? I never heard of them. Im assuming they are JDM but still never heard of them. IMO I would go with a DOHC ZC or a D15B. I would go with D15B cause I personally owned both and in the same car with similiar mods the D15B would take out the ZC. Plus its couple hundered bucks cheaper and has more interchangeable parts with other D series motor than the ZC.

</TD></TR></TABLE> what the ? did youb say jdm D16y8? Any engine code that ends with a number is a US motor. D16y8 is from a 96-98 (or 99?) EX. when it ends with no number its JDM example D15B which is 1.5L SOHC VTEC (130HP) but the D15B7 is 1.5L SOHC Only (about 70hp)

I have a d16z6 bored 76mm .40 high compression with skunk2 megapower headers and catback so front to back and it’s tuned and chipped and a bored throttle body iM making like 165hp I’m sure if I get a skunk2 intake manifold and some aftermarket fuel injectors and cam shaft I’ll make a little more hp ! So I think d16z6 is the best ! And the z6 is light and well built and I have it in a crx only weighs 1800 well around there so yeah !
What a time machine forums can be. Best D series threads never die. Figuratively speaking and literally so that means the info is still out there and you didn’t look haha
