Suspension Upgrade
What are the different type of bars i can get to upgrade my suspension. ie: Strut bars or Sway bars. What im really curious is how many bars are there that i can upgrade. Whats the difference between a strut bar and a sway bar or an anti roll bar. This might seem like noobie questions but I wanna get this all cleared up before i spend money on parts. Also, i wanted to know if theres a big difference in cheap stuff on ebay compared to the name brand stuff like Progress. My friend tells me there just "metal bars" but I dont want to just buy cheap **** that wont work properly. So maybe some advice on other quality bars.
Strut bars are one of the cheaper ways to increase chassis rigidity. However, don't buy no-name, cheap bars, as they are weak and will do nothing. Try to get one that also attaches to the firewall, as that will help increase rigidity even more.
Sway bars are for reducing body roll. These are supposed to compliment the springs.
I think the best handling upgrade for any FF will be an LSD. The LSD will increase your grip while accelerating, curing some understeer.
If you can't afford an LSD, then just go with a good set of lowering springs or sleeve-type coilovers (like Ground Control) and some good shocks. Better yet, get a full coilover system.

Strut bars are the bars you see mounted at the top of the struts. Sway bars are under your car. If you are interested in racing, I agree you should get an LSD if you don't already have one. They help with your cornering by putting more power to the outside wheel. This helps you so that you don't understeer, "plow", through a curve as badly. Before you get anything, decide what kind of handling characteristics you want. If you want more oversteer, get a thicker rear sway bar. If you want more understeer, get a thicker front sway bar. If you want your car for racing, try to get adjustable bars so that you can get as close to neutral steer as possible. Also, look to see if you want struts/shocks. If you do, then get some that are adjustable so that you can quickly change your handling characteristics.
