they are side specific - they driver's side, where it fits into the intermediate shaft, has longer splines than the passenger side - a passenger side axle with the shorter splines won't go far enough into the intermediate shaft

If you look at the inner joint on the left axle in the pic,
you can see the spline area is longer than the one on the right..

The joint that has the extended spline area
goes into the intermediate shaft..

you probably have the s1 or y1 intermediate shaft you need a hybrid axle thats shorter because that intermediate shaft is longer, get a us spec intermediate shaft out of a 90-93 integra that will solve your problem

Not sure if you specifically checked but I may point out the obvious...

As said above, driver and passenger side axles have different inner splines..
Both axles will fit into the intermediate shaft, but on the tranny side the axle with splines half way will only go partially into the tranny. Are you 100% sure you don't have the passenger side axle in the driver's side, pushing the axle out about 2 1/2" or so?

I'm pretty sure that you would have checked this when you had it out, but it doesn't make sense that your engine mounts are that far off center.

Maybe you were given the wrong intermediate? My ZC tranny has the same axles as my B16 but the intermediate is different...

Sh3 is the long halfshaft. The sk7 is the halfshaft for the usdm axles. Your problem is the axle is to long. You have the option of swapping halfshafts or running a custom http://www.hasport.com/ axles. Weigh thte cost and go from there. This should solve it.

ok, yea i did check them and the axle with the splines halfway, i put on the passenger side/tranny side...the axle with the splines all the way i put in the drivers side intermediate shaft, so i'm %100 positive the driver side axle is going into the intermediate shaft..

yea i do have an SK7 intermediate shaft also, but that doesnt fit my b16 motor, i ran into that problem a while ago, thats why i had to get the SH3 (the Sk7 bracket where it bolts on the block did not match up), so as of now ONLY the SH3 fits my motor, what axles go with the SH3 half axle? i was told 90-93 teg axles will fit the SH3....if not..what do?</TD></TR></TABLE>

The problem you had with the Sk7 halfshaft was it was probally an auto. Check the plate if you still have it and I bet its completely flat. This wont allow it to fit over the mounting on the block. Your option with the SH3 halfshaft is tto either buy the SK7 halfshaft or keep the sh3 and buy custom axles from http://www.hasport.com. Check the custom axle link and it identifies the axles you need with that halfshaft.

Yep, its an auto. I have 2 auto ones and a B16 one... The B16 one bolts up fine but its about 3/4 of an inch longer.... You can make the auto one work if you have to by grinding it down untill it bolts up. I did that until I was able to make sure that I was getting a manual LS one.

Good Luck....

Thats an auto. Junk it and use it for a door stop. Pick up a SK7 and run your existing axles or pick up a custom set at http://www.hasport.com and run your existing halfshaft.

Screw getting a custom axle from hasport. You can keep your existing shaft, and run an 86-89 integra axle for the drivers side. I've used this setup on my personal race car for years. Holds a few hundred horsepower fine

And if your broke, there are always plently of 1g tegs at the junkyard. Should be able to find a good axle for under $20.

I also had the same problem. put in 91 integra axles and wobbled like a bitch. I was running the JDM SIR intermediate shaft that came with the b16. got a 91 integra LS intermediate from a friend. works fine now. I know im confirming what everyone else said, but i just want you to know that i was also down that terrible road before. good luck man.

so wait...an 86-89 teg axle will work with this SH3 shaft? is the 86-89 teg axle shorter then the 90-93 axle..if so how much shorter?? this would really really help to know..thanks..</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yes it will work. Like i said, thats exactly what i run.
I never measured them exactly, but i can tell you that the joints are not over extended, so there is no risk of them breaking. Just make sure to keep the 90+ axle on the passengers side.
