Bad Bad BAD compression
have this posted in the all motor forum, but i figured i'd get some more specialized opinions ie. (integra owners) haha, so ya, try not to laugh when u read this, and if u have any ideas what the **** is up, plz feel free to fill me in, cause i couldn't believe these results.......153000km on the car by the way
'', i'm just freaked out n flippin, i didn't think my 95 integra rs special was performing well enough, and i had all these mods planned but i didn't want to do any of them till i figured out why it wasn't performing.....so i go into honda and get them to do a compression test.........now i know u guys all say it's all about consistancy....but these numbers are brutal!
All 4 cylinders were at 110 dry and 125 wet
is it just me or is that ******* brutal.....wut to do:S??? ''
hope you ppl can help?

I personally think i'm burning a lot of oil, and there was oil in spark plug hole #3 when they did the test....which i figured because the odd time it wouldn't fire so i knew there was oil in one of em.... but honda said it was natural to burn a litre in 4000kms....
that is preety bad, maybe a head gasket, piston rings it could be a couple of things i guess that ur # 1 priority now.....and it is common for those engines to burn some oil
Only way to see whats wrong is to do a leak down test to see exactly where the leak is. As far as oil in # 3 spark plug hole, you need to change your spark plug gaskets seals. My g/f had a 95 SE with oil almost covering the spark plug. i changed the seals and no problem since

how bout timing belt???? my old shops teacher (who builds custom hot rods) says that if its slipping the valve timing would be off which would cause low compression..... is this a possibility?? He also told me how to check this, says theres lil notches on the crank and pully but ican't seem to find any markings....

180-210, consistancy is important, different testers will show different results, so usually in that range is fine, once again, consistancy is a bigger concern, unless u're like me and your consistancy is super low! Still no response on the timing belt? Anybody know if this could be the problem, and if so, any chance you could explain how i could check this myself?

its NOT your problem

Have you done a leakdown test yet?? Thats the only way to find out where you are losing compression. Noone on here can magically tell you whats wrong and why its low. It can be many different variables. You ask if its your timing belt or timing. Who on here is going to know whether the timing belt is bad or timing is off. Have you checked it??? We are giving you some possible senarios on to what it may be but you arent applying those to your problem. You just keep asking Q's?
he's asking if the timing belt thing is possible, *******. sheesh.
i have no idea if the timing belt thing is possible or not. but here's something that might help you check.
if you pull off the valve cover when the motor is at top dead center on the #1 piston, you will see the little markings on the two cam sprockets. i believe you're at top dead center when they are both parallel, horizontal, facing inwards towards each other. make sense? do a search for instruction on timing belt replacement or valve adjustment and you should find an illustration on top dead center. i have a link for this for the b18c1 which SHOULD be similar, but you never know. here's the link and a pic. valve adjust and timing belt replacement both talk about TDC and those marks.

You havea b18b if im not mistaken, 185psi is stock, and if its below 135 its pretty bad. I'd say rings, or valve seals. Valve guides wouldnt cause it because they have nothing to do with compression of the cylinder. They just leak oil.

a blown head gasket could cause low compression as well

thank you, exactly what i was looking for and what i was talking about, my old shops teacher said the same thing about those markings i just didn't get half of what he said, your clarified that a lot, he said if those markings dont' line up then the timing is off....so ya, thanx man, i'll have to check it when i get some free time
