Default okay i've had enouhg with my car (ek h22)

I've had nothing but problems since I bought this damn car in april.

Someone please help me.

It was working 100% perfectly today.

I was driving going 45mph down a street and a car pulls in front of me, I slam my brakes and swerve to avoid him, i go back into my lane and slow down to the light, my car dies by itself. (i put the clutch in and it died)

Now I drive it the car has a hard time revving, and whenever i rev it a bit and put the clutch in it dies while moving. i'll get a video for you guys so you can hear it (it sounds like **** and drives like ****)

My driverside mount was broken so i know the engine moved a bit, but what would cause it to do the rest.

if you need anymore info please let me know.

if you know of any honda shops in the tri-state area who know what they are doing, please let me know.

Check your fuel filter....sometimes the fuel filter will clog after sudden shifts of the fuel tank and the pump sends crap its way.

Trust me, it happens more than you think.

it idles fine but it sounds raspy. I'm sorry I can't describe it better.

How do I go about checking my fuel filter?

your first post sounds like how my car acted before the dizzy died, but the last makes it sound like rod knock. What ecu are you running? do you have a knock sensor installed?

yes knock is installed.

running a p72.

it was running 100% perfectly right before hte incident, I hit VTEC on the same road right before the ******* pulled in front of me.

Also I looked over all the wiring and looked @ the dizzy to see if it was moved.

Everything looks the exact same.

I just pulled out my dipstick and the oil is like midnight black. What does that mean?

It's a complete long shot but perhaps a windage problem? Since your mount was fucked the oil in the pan could have swung up and around the windage tray and the crank (possible at a high rpm) had to cut through the oil instead of the normal air and perhaps slightly bent a rod from the added friction and the high speed of the piston coming down.

Complete long shot of an idea but you seem to be getting smoke from your egr system....do a comp test....

Honestly if you motor is acting this fucked up, maybe a rebuild is in order.

I never installed EGR.

Anyone know how much a rebuild would run me? (with stock parts?)

im in jersey....im rebuilding a h22 right now...i would start with a compression test and go from there...bad compression could cause stalling and you can have bad compression because of a bent rod, now why the rod bent is a different story...since you said you had a bad mount make sure all the plugs to injectors, knock sensor, etc. are in good shape and not broken or stretched wires...

http://home.comcast.net/~salix911/car.mpg

I made a video (6.01MB). The video quality is horrible but the audio is what matters.

This video was made from a cold-start hence the high-idle, however it idles normally after it is warmed up.

When I put the camera on the headlight I go into the car and rev it up to under 3K RPM.

PLEASE RIGHT-CLICK --> SAVE-AS Thank you!

If you need any additional information let me know.

EDIT: @ 1:34 you can really here the knock I am talking about.

okay based on another thread i am 90% sure I have rod knock.

I started the car and pulled and put back each spark plug wire. When i pulled the 2nd one on the right |o o x o| it stopped knocking almost completely. I noticed before I pulled it off the spark plug wire wasn't on completely and when I tried putting it back on it wasn't going on all the way.

Could it just be that my spark plug wasn't tight enough and its just moving about in the cylinder?

if your spark plug was or is loose then when you have combustion then you could be hearing it escape through the threads. Very unlikely but possible.

Have you looked at your oil pan? You could have hit something when you swerved and dented the oil pan. That could block your pickup enough to spin a bearing. It definitely sounds like you have a spun bearing.

You car sounds exactly like mine did after I had the timing belt jump a tooth. Check it.

Check the timing via a timing light.

Also, check the compression, do a valve adjustment.

What are those check engine lights?

Oh, also, if you need a new driver's side mount, I have the hcp polyurethane mount for sale, I belive it's 120 new, I'll sell it for $80 shipped.
