Default why cant i put a type s or sh tranny on my base

i blew 5th gear out of my tranny in my base lude and the shop told me that i could not put a type s or an sh tranny on my base they told me that the diff was different is that true? if not would it be worth it to put a type s or sh tranny in my lude?

The type SH uses an ATTS unit. The ATTS unit will not fit on a base block. You must have a SH block in order to run the ATTS and SH tranny.

like precision said, but you can also run a 4th gen lude vtec tranny to keep similar gearing, or if you are in a bind and need a tranny immediately and dont care about slower acceleration than almost any 92-01 non-sh lude tranny and 90+ accord tranny will work
