Default Poor Man's Type R + JRSC

hi HT people, i picked up a gsr short block with P73 pistons with all new bearings and a 2000 SI complete head, except for the distributor for a really nice price($850 if you really wanna know). now, i see that people with lsvtec or b20vtec with turbos running nicely, what i want to do with the set up i bought today is to JRSC IT. is there anyone on HT that have done a poor man's type r with jrsc? what you guys think about the set up, good idea? bad idea? i never had a n/a motor before nor have i assembled an engine. but if this set up is not reliable i'll take the n/a route. so come on guys help a brotha out, tips, hints, dyno sheets, set up list,or what ever!!!

for the head i'll get new set of valve train, the buttom end i'm going to leave alone because it looks like it just got out the shop, besides the JRSC, i going to have a and new injectors. i dont want a monster engine, so i think i can hit a modest 230hp-240hp on 5.5 psi and no lag. did i say no lag? i think i can get a lil bit more hp because on JR site they dyno'd a gsr with header, injectors, tuning and made 222hp and 159tq. wish me luck

please dont hate on the jrsc or tell me to go turbo because turbo honda lag and uber low ETs aint my bowl of rice

thanks people

A small turbo will hit full boost before your JRSC... And you don't want to use that aftermarket cam with a JRSC setup.

Any turbo setup will smoke a JRSC setup. That's a fact.

No its not. Ive seen a few JRSC setups running in the 12's.

Not that Turbo setups arnt capable of doing that, because alot of them are, but not all turbo setups DO thatso in conclusion

Some JRSC setups are faster than SOME turbo setups.

Every dyno I've ever seen suggests that stock cams are the best. Turbo cams in JRSC motors always loose power.

The problem is that no one makes a supercharger cam. There just isn't a big enough market. You'd have to get a custom made cam which is too expensive, so most people stay with stock cams.

^^I guess I didn't say what I meant. By "stock" cams I mean stick with honda/acura cams, don't go aftermarket. I know people have found some gains by swapping around different b-series cams.

10.6:1 with your typical 3-layer MLS headgasket.

10.9:1 with a 2 layer b-series headgasket.
