3 distributors later and still a code 9 CYP....
i have a 91 HF with a b18 swap and converted to obd1 with a rywire conversion harness and using a chipped p28. im using an obd1 dist that i de-pinned and am using obd0 plugs. car starts fine but i keep getting code 9 for cylinder position sensor (CYP). i ohmed out the 2 wires for the CYP at the dist and they were within spec (398ohms and spec is between 300ohms-700ohms). checked to see if theres a break in the wire all the way to the ecu. no breaks. i went through 3 good dist and still nothing. i even tried swapping the 2 wires on the dist for the CYP thinking i might have swapped them when i re-pinned the dist, but still nothing. im really really stumped
Trying Re-soldering your connections at the ecu (before the conversion harness).
Thats what I did and it solved my code 9 with I did my mpfi swap.
Make sure the conversion harness wiring is going to the correct place.
Make sure the distributor plug connection is good.

if there were any breaks in the wires, when i wired the 2 CYP wires straight from my dist to my ECU that should have fixed it. correct?

like what? i thought they were all routed the same way.
man i hate electrical problems

ok i went over it again and found out that the orange wire (on the engine harness that plugs to the dist) connects to B10 (CKP P *according to hasport*) then from my conversion harness that connects to B11. then the white wire goes to B12 (CKP G) then to B12. so it looks like CKP signal is getting fed to my CYP signal. going to check if they are crossed vice-versa as well
so yah the wires for the CKP cross the CYP wires through my conversion harness. im going to try swapping them out and see if it fixes my problem.
BTW thanks awhole bunch for the quick responses and help from everyone

Whats the wiring color? To Obd-0 to Obd-1
*Note: I have my crx with a b16a obd1 and had the same problem. I still have my write-up on paper. I just need to see the what wire colors are connected.
Also "rywire conversion harness" came with the instru.? Right?
And another thing to the car runs with the code flashing and you can drive it around until it the dizzy over heats, then the car would shut-off and wouldnt move. That happen to me twice.

Give me a call today, the harness is pinned different than hasport, so dont go by that. Make sure you follow the directions to a T. If you still have troubles, or you have allready swapped wires and have no idea where they go then give me a call, I will tell you how to do it.

can you guys just send me the pinout diagram along with the full instructions that come with an OBD0-OBD1 conversion for an hf/si? the diagram will help me out alot so i dont have to go by someone elses pinouts and find out you guys just used a diff location. thanks. ill try and call you guys tommorrow but i have work in the afternoon and by the time i get off you guys are closed.
Ok I might have it right I dont know. But here it is in my-point of view
Obd0 Obd1
peach(white) yellow/green
blue/green blue/green
orange peach(orange)
orange/blue white/blue (wrong)
blue/white(blue/yellow) blue/white(blue/yellow)
peach(white) white
white/peach(white/blue) peach/blue(orange/blue)((wrong))
Hopefully switch the wrong one's around and it should clear the code. If not leave a post on the code and I'll look at my books for it again.
