Default Sway Bars for my GSR...which should i use????

Like the post says, I want to upgrade my factory sway bars on my 97 GSR. I want to know which ones actually work better in a daily driven car? I was looking at the Suspension Techniques ones and at Hotchkis Tuning sway bars, which other ones would you recommend? I know that they cost a pretty penny, but I would like something that is not going to break the bank like crazy.

Please help me out

If it helps, my car has the Buddy Club racing soec damper installed.

The ITR rear sway bar is quite popular. You'll need a reinforcement kit to use it. I don't know much about it, so you should probably run a search, or wait for someone knowledgeable to post their thoughts.

I've also heard good things about the Comptech rear sway bar, but again, I don't know much about it.

ITR rear sway bar... with bsq or beaks re kit...

it'll work well with your high spring rates and dampers.

Hmmm, I forgot about the Comptech rear sway bar...anyone know how good it is and how much it retails for? also, would it be a good idea to use it with my high spring rates?

For a street driven car, you're possibly best just leaving it stock. Its safest anyway. Don't know why I'm feeling preachy today, forgive me.

That aside, I've got a Comptech rear swaybar on my 00 gsr and I love it. Set to the stiffest setting, I do get lift throttle oversteer with an otherwise stock car on Azenis. It really helps the car rotate better. Doesn't seem to effect day to day use, and so far, I have no noises from the polyurethane bushings. Definately worth the money. Springs and shocks come next for me, auto-x owns me.

I'm a fan of my ITR bar + Beaks kit. You can find it a lot cheaper than Comptech which is what was attractive to me.

Ok, now should i upgrade both bars or just upgrade one, and which bar should I upgrade?...looks like its a toss between the ITR, Comptech, or Progress bars...i know the ITR bar I can get it at my local Acura dealer for like 80 bucks.

Just get a rear bar. You'll be fine.

Anything is going to be an improvement over stock, but I especially like the way the Progress is designed to connect to the rear shocks.

although a lot of integra owners reconmmend the itr sway w/ beaks it. i would stay away from it. enlarging the mounting d-braket holes isnt something I WOULD do. theres smoething about drilling the frame that holds your sway bar that i dont like..

the comptech kit is a direct bolt on and easily find one for 350 new

or if you are tight on money, you can get the ST rear kit which is similar to the comptech which sells for 300..

both set ups come with a 22mm sway and sub frame reinforcement

hope this helps your decision

U know, I never thought about this.....now, for 350.00, does the Comptech one come with the lower tie bar or is it just the sway bar? Anyone know how many mm is the front sway bar on the GSR integras?

The dealership sells them at cheap or do you have some type of connection. If they are that cheap, man i would have bought one a long time ago to go with my 12k/10k suspension

i had a ITR sway bar w/ Benen tie bar it was good

BUT, year or two i got the Comptech WAY BETTER now i dont feel like my subframe is going to tear out, no worries here... for an extra 200 bucks its worth it to me, ripping a subframe repair is worth over 1k IMO..

comptech=350 safe
itr sway = 100 unsafe somewhat

Itr sway bar is a great cheap mod, but requires handy work at drilly a bigger hole. If that's not the thing for you i suggest get the comptech sway/tie bar combo. It's one of the greatest invention because that tie bar not only servesa as a tie bar but also reinforces ur sway bar.

I'm surprised no one has said anyhting about the a-spec racing reinforcement or the full setup?
Well, for me, I got a really good deal for JDM front and rear ITR way bars - $99 for both I believe...
That was really cheap so I got those...23mm in the rear. I'm going to use the a-spec racing reinforcement for $180. Tell me what u guys think? Oh yea, also I heard that BSQ and Beakes have problems, as in tearing or something?
