Default Intake manifold test-ported ITR vs JG Sheetmetal--Dyno!

Motor is a GSR. 92mm crank. 86mm custom pistons. Custom rods. Skunk2 Stage 2 cams. Two different dynojet dynos. Jackson racing and R&D Dyno. Only difference between the two sessions is the intake manifolds. The ported ITR manifold kicks butt from 5,900 to 8,300. The JG carries the power better from 8,300 to redline. My personal opinion is that R&D's dyno reads lower, but it's just a guess. The test basically shows two different IM power curves, peak numbers can not really be compared, because the test was done on two different dynos. Take the test how you will-it's for amusement and info only.

but, unless someone has some close gears and shifts ~11K rpm, and the engine pulls that high, the same engine with the ported itr im should win every time, for drag or otherwise, unless (for some reason) with the jg im the engine revs faster.

Good test! Completely makes sense the Edelbrock was designed for 7k-10k, the ITR manifold was designed for a stock ITR which redlines at 8400 RPM. Factory stuff usually has good low to midrange in mind but in this case ITR they designed it to go higher for the ITR. It is all about COMBINATION COMBINATION COMBINATION! There was a local guy here had tested the AIR, Edelbrock and Skunk2, Skunk2 stayed on the car and the guy got a refund on the AIR. Car made 230whp or so btw So many of our Forced Induction guys buy the Edelbrock mani when it is not needed for them, thye may only run up to 9k or even 8.5k, just not worth it then. Again good test
