WOW! Good ****!
Just a newb question......What determines the cage setup in the rear? (I mean structural wise, Like two bars going one way and one going the other?)

It looks like he tried to avoid cutting the dash by routing the tubes through the side window defroster vents.

I see this. But since its a race car, there's really no reason not to cut up the dash for best cage fitment.

True - however, it seemed more fun & challenging to go through the dash rather than just start hacksawing through everything. It will never go back to a 'street' car.
As ITE class will let me get going. An occaisional HPDE will happen to. There is no NASA in my area

I guess I dont get it. I'd much rather have safe with good visibility rather than a "fun and challenging" cage build.

I might have missed it in the first thread, but are you doing the cage yourself?

I've got no reason to remove the dash at this point. If it came down to it - I'll chop the biatch. nuf said.

To be honest, while its still in the shop i'd go pull the dash out and have the forward tubes redone. But thats just me. You only have to build the cage once, and at some point you may need it to save your life.
RJ - who is not looking forward to pulling the dash and doing the prep to have my cage finished this winter (only have the rear half now).

N00b question, what exactly is the problem with the cage being a bit farther away from the A pillar? If it fails in that position wouldn't it fail in any position?
I'm not being a smart ***, just wondering?
BTW, nice progress, Jeff

i'd be much more concerned about the location of the door bars being way down by the floor instead of actually where the nose of a car would impact the door more in the middle of it.

No it wont fail. Just one of the benefits of having a custom cage built is maximizing interior space and keeping it as far away from the driver as possible.
