suja 1 motoring's k20a midori ek hatch
so this is my car, the rest of the details are in my buildup. it used to have a semi-built b16b that laid down 185whp. that made me a little sick to my stomach. a stock k20a with i/h/e and k-pro lays down what? and it's capable of 12 second passes? can't be true right? i had to see it in person and once i did, i had to have one. so here it is... and i'm never going back.
my car starting surgery
hmotorsonline provides the heart
inspection
oh yeah
DC5R power steering pump?
...don't think so. ep3 idler pulley
pulling the old heart out
empty kermy
hasport mounts
making new radiator mounts for rsx radiator
rcrew p.i.m.p.
good bye shift linkage
new heart going in
looks right at home?
the one thing i hate most - bad oil pan clearance... my car rides like a 4x4 anyway
karcepts shift plate with rcrew header and T1R exhaust clearance
...so that's it for now. i have to pusher fans on their way, clevis pins and clips also on their way, interior to get put back together, fuel lines and clutch lines are waiting on me to make them, the wiring's done, and i have some peices from burns stainless coming to finish the exhaust system with... hopefully get her running by sunday but i can only work on it at night so it'll be rough.

Re: suja 1 motoring's k20a midori ek hatch (pb16b)
...and here's another update.
factory type r head
intake manifold off with pimp
some pro fab goodness
no more shift linkage - a little cutting required
just making sure the console still fits
not much room for a fan
so i mounted 2 pushers from FAL up front
doesn't look too bad with the bumper on

If you want more ground clearance, Hasport offers the brackets to convert your EKK1 kit into their EKK2 kit, which also places the motor a bit farther back in the engine bay and higher up, but you would need to obtain an EG crossmember, steering rack, and lower control arms..

which you can find at your local wrecking yard,is not that expensive, and very eazy to install. Looks very good so far.

Looking good so far. That'll be me soon, just have a few more parts to collect.
I was hoping to go with a full size radiator like you have. What application is that radiator for? Are the fans for a specific application or are they universal? It looks like the radiator is really close to the intake manifold, is there a chance that when the motor torques under load that they could contact?
Everyone seems to have a different answer for this; what throttle cable did you use?
Have you done anything to remedy the speedometer/odometer inaccuracy that normally results?

Re: suja 1 motoring's k20a midori ek hatch (joe_bocc)
the radiator is a koyo unit for an rsx. i went with that application so i could run the fan switch on it without having to use the adapter tube.
the fans i think were made for a jeep wrangler or something like that. they pull 820 cfm, so they probably push around 700 - which isn't enough but 2 of them = 1400 cfm which should be more than enough for hondas.
people say use a 97 dx throttle cable. i don't know where they got that from and i always thought all the d16y8's in ek's use the same throttle cable so that's the one i used. there is a recall at honda for these throttle cables so i got a brand new one for free.
i didn't do anything for the speedo yet.

Very cool. I just started looking around for pricing for that motor. Keep us updated on how the test runs turn out and any problems / solutions you came across.
