Default A-spec Racing 32mm sway bar

I recently got hooked up with Charleston from A-spec Racing and purchased one of his new 32mm rear sway bars for the type-r or eg civic. It is fully adjustable and has 2 different wall thicknesses you can choose from. I chose the 3mm wall thickness as opposed to the 2.5mm wall thickness for alittle stiffer rear. This bar is on my 2000 py itr H2 race car.

Before I was running the stock 22mm bar and was experiencing a decent amount of understeer thru numerous turns out on track. After I installed this, I found the rear to be somewhat tail happy especially on cold tires. Once the tires are warmed up, I absolutely love the bar and think that it is a great upgrade to any track ITR or maybe even street ITR. I love nothing more than lifting off the gas or simply breathing the car alittle in a turn and having a decent amount of rotation from the rear of the car that really helps with frontend turn-in and grip

Hunter runs the same 32mm bar and rear subframe brace kit on his H1 eg...

Alan (trackrat) also runs the 32mm bar on his H2 itr

Charleston with A-spec gets a from me

That would be WAAAYYY to much bar for the street. You never know when you might have to lift during a corner to avoid <insert obstacle, animal, bad driver> and if the roads are wet, sandy or your just going along at a good rate your screwed.

About 3 months ago i was doing 70kph(about 40mph) in an 80kph zone and as I was coming around a corner a tree fell in the road because gum trees suck and it was windy/rainy as hell. I reacted perfectly but the *** end still came around a bit. The passengers in my car were like "this car usually sucks to be a passenger in but damn it handled that situation nicely." If I had a thicker bar I might not have had enough room to bring the car around.

I agree, street and 32mm bar DO NOT mix... I do not care how good of a driver you are...

Holy *****, I didn't even know they made 32mm sway bars for Hondas. I always thought 26 was it. I can't imagine what the snap lift oversteer would be like though...

How is the bar stiffness compared to a Mugen 26mm?

Its a 32mm hollow bar.... stiffness is equivalent to a 26mm mugen.

32mm x 2.5mm (hollow)A-spec vs 26mm Mugen.

The soft setting is 5% stiffer than Mugen. The stiff setting is 20% stiffer than Mugen. I'm not sure how the 3mm bar compares.

The A-spec set up is 10 lbs lighter than Mugen 26.

also, i'm not necessarily saying itr owners should run it on the street...

personally i would though

I just know there are alot of itr owners that track their car (its intended purpose) in this forum...more here than in the RR forum

I run the same bar/brace on my Ek...

Street/Track car.

I think I actually had the first test/production setup on my car.

I love it. i used to run it on the streets with my OEM struts and Tien S-tech springs. I have sense upgraded to the Omni race full coilover setup. But the fact hat i ran it on the stock struts and those even crappier springs says a lot for the brace setup. You guys don't have to worry as much with your ITR's but my EK's stock rear subframe would not have liked a 32mm rear sway...

Question, how do you adjust the stiffness of the bar?
