what size tire for 16" rim
You might be able to physically mount wider tires on a 16x7 rim, but they may cause problems for your car, including rubbing on the fender well and/or suspension, inaccuracy of the speedometer/odometer, slower acceleration if they have a larger outer diameter, etc. So one tire size might be fine on one kind of car, but might cause big problems on another.
aight cool, thanx for the answers. yea the rims have a +42 offset also so any wider i dont know if they would rub.

205/45-16 (0.8 percent smaller than the stock 195/55-15) or 215/45-16 (0.7 percent larger than the stock 195/55-15).
There are a lot more tire choices available in 205 than 215.

The 215/45/16 will fit on the 7 inch wide wheel and will fit your vehicle. However, you don't have many choices in tires in that size. The Dunlop Direzza DZ101 is available at $108 each plus shipping from Tire Rack.
