Strange Oil Leak
Okay i have changed the oil pan gasket several times and can not seem to stop a severe oil leak. I just bought a brand new oil pan from honda and new gasket, torqued it on properly and still have a bad oil leak. It drops fast. I thought it was the oil pan/gasket but i would think that wasn'tr it now since i changed it all. What else can cause a really bad leak? Im talking a quart a day! Help!
I honestly don't know. My 95 teg is leaking oil bad too. It's not dripping, it's just...going away. I did a compression test- perfect. Changed head gasket and valve seals, oil pan. blah blah blah, Still leaking and I can't figure it out. If any one know's what is going on. Let us know.
take the oil pan back off and look around the trans side of the block sealing surface.there are 2 studs that stick down from the block and nuts hold the pan on .look closely at the studs to make sure that there is not a small brass sleave over the stud . it will not allow the pan to contact the block ..i think it comes from when then oil pan is originally taken off... sound stupid but i bet that is the prob ..i had one like this in a type r and i found it after taking the trans out to replace the rear main thinking that it was leaking. good luck
I cant tell where it is comming from because oil is being slapped all over, everything is soaked. I have a brand new oil pan and gasket on which pisses me off because the oil pan was $160! and didn't even stop the leak. Its on torqued right and flush all around. The drops on the floor are just all over. If it was 1 puddle i could figure it out but there is atleast 8 diff. drop areas!

i had the same problem in my da a few months back, a new oil pan gasket and oil pressure switch fixed, im not sure if you could be leaking oil from the pressure switch but you might want to check
My car likes to do the disappearing oil magic trick too. The car left no oil stain, and there was no black smoke coming from my exhaust. Well one day I decided to open the hood of my car after a hard run through a canyon and I notice the oil leaking through the valve cover gasket and burning right off when it touched the header/heat shield thingy.
I just fixed this problem myself. It turned out to be the tee that I made for the autometer oil pressure gauge and the turbo feed line. The tee was slowly breaking and with that it was leaking oil. I changed the oil pan gasket 3 times and had it off numerous times to try and figure it out. I wasted over $75 on gaskets and countless hours for it to turn out to be a $1.50 piece that was breaking off!!
So I would check the oil pressure sending unit and the oil filter.
Put the car on jack stands, hose off all the oil underneath the car, let it dry, start the car and lay underneath and wait for it to start leaking. Use a mirror if you have to. This will allow you to look around in area's that you can't see. Good luck!!
