91 Accord LX engine Swap
ok, i want to put a newer engine into my car, i just don't want to dump a **** load of money and time into a H22 swap. So i was thinking of finding a Vtec motor that will fit easily into my car. And should i get a new tranny while im swapping the motor out.
I hate to be needy but anyone have suggestions as to where to find a motor in chicagoland?

if your block is good you can put on the f22b dohc,h23 as a direct bolt on and the h22 head with minor mods. the h23 woulds give most tq and the h22 more hp, higher rpm range and vtec. and u could spend anywhere from 300-600 for a full head swap including ecu if u do it urself.
the f22b1 looks like my best bet, this car is a daily driver and i don't want to blow my wad on wanting to do preformance upgrades all the time if i get the H22, and with gas going up it looks like a good investment.
im going up to carquest, napa, and autozone to see how much a rebuilt one will cost.

Don't forget the f20a (both DOHC and SOHC) fits in 4g accords as well. It was the original 2.0Si motor. They can be hard to find, but when you do find them they usually aren't too pricey.

isnt that 3rd gen??? dont post info like that to confuse an already confused person with more engine options, when this one would not make sense to put in a 4th gen at all

Nope, the f20a came out of a 4th gen. Yes, it makes plenty of sense. Actually it's probably a much easier swap than all these frankenstien motors that keep coming up.
