Code 20 and battery light

WE just installed a lsvtec and we are getting code 20 and a battery light. We had a D serie just before that and had nothing of that. what could be the problem...maybe a the alternator?

Edit: yep its in the fuse box.

I think code 20 is ELD, It's part of your fuse box.

Does the engine turn over?

Yeah everything work fine. also the battery only make 9.5V and when we boost it its make 13V.

edit: the car starts but it doesn't run very good.

Also, check to make sure you did not ground out your O2 sensor 12v switched wire (yel/blk). This happened to a friend of mine.
