Default Sound Deadening Material Removal

I started to take out the material that would be under the rear driver's side seat. No dry ice, no heat gun, just brawn!! lol

i got everything out and cleaned up pretty well except for the tar that was over the sealing material.

Rear Pass Side

Rear Driver Side

Both

Can anyone help me out on what to do?
Does anyone have pics of this same area that has be done perfect??

Thanks!

btw: Got bored, i know 20-30lbs will not make any difference really

Be careful if you use dry ice. I've read it'll make the undercoating flake off, underneath your car.

They sell sound deadening remover at some stores. I have no clue what its made of, but it will make the material dissolve to liquid so you can scrape it off fairly easily.

Or, use a heatgun. Works like dry ice.

I hear 3m Tar Remover works well.

I would be very careful around the seem sealed areas - they are there for structural integrity.

it works REALLY well for clean-up when you have the excess after scraping off the large chunks

As funny as this sounds, I've thought about doing it to the trunk. Unfortunately, the entire chassis is the frame, so removing a little metal weakens everything.

the white caulking thing you are talking about is a SEAM SEALER.
