ohhh man. what a long night....so im driving along and all of a sudden i hear "POW" and my car shuts off....and it starts back up. oK. fine.....i get to the light and the car just dies on me and wont start. [ls/vtec ctr pistons bc3+ cams rc 310injectors] and so on. now....after about 20 or so tries....its start up like normal....runs/revs all fine. then just hesitates and dies with loud back firing. I THINK the backfiring is cause im running RC 310 injectors and its dumping fuel into a hot motor and just spits it out, and POW.

my question is what could this be? bad spark plugs? bad injectors? bad distributor? what is going on..im so mad and in such a daze right now.... the engine will not throw any CEL's for the 1-2 minutes its running fine. anyone think the motor is blown?


edit: new water pump / oil pump /radiator as well. the car was not over heatting?

Hm, maybe first thing is to check to fuel filter for a major clog.

thanks....im starting to think its the distributor though.

 

maybe you should check with the guys in the NA forum? they deal with similar setups all the time.

try new cap and rotor?

 

tune up....cap,rotor, plugs,wires, and check timing/examine plugs to see whats goin on in the motor. just a suggestion. ^^ dude is right go to the NA Forum, much better knowledge...good luck

 

I'd check the rotor.

Mine did that when it came loose.

its getting picked up this week f0q3r ed.

 

had a friend who had a similar problem and he changed out the plugs...plug wires.....and then put on new cap and rotor and the car has ran great.
