Help!!! Can't shift into gear...
94 GSR approx. 140000 miles
I can't shift into gear without lots of force.
I was driving on the fwy when my exit came up and i begin to decellerate. I took began to take the car out of fifth and realized my foot was down to the floor with the clutch and i was pulling on the shifter to finally get into neutral. Then i tried to put it into forth with great rejection. I eventually pulled off the road. It is like this whether i'm moving or stopped. I can get the car into first with some revving of the engine, but when i go for second, it's hard to pull out and hard to put in.
History-
-Back in october, my mechanical suggested my master clutch cylinder was leaking and it should be replaced/repaired. Does it look like i waited too long, and what kind of damage did i do now?
-December, changed transmission fluid with honda fluids.

yes you waited too long. Sounds like the clutch master is gone. while you are at it replace the slave cylinder too. Good luck.

i'm having the same problem ryte now too and i also think that it's one of the cylinders (slave and/or master). might also be the release bearing but i think it's the master cylinder though. if anyone else knows wassup post more in here cuz i'm not sure. My tranny is EASY to shift when the car is off but once it's on it's hella hard to shift into or outoff gears. Thanx
i'm not the oringal guy that posted this but i'm having the same problems. I had my clutch and pressure plate changed about...... 2 months ago and it started happening about a month ago. What are you suggesting?

Thanks for all the response. Fluid level is above min and i changed the tranny fluid last december.
Looks like I'm going to have the cylinders replaced. But i was just out testing the clutch and shifter again. I had the engine running, everything sounded fine. Depressed the clutch, everything sounded fine. Move the shifter to reverse, can't get in and i could hear spinning.
Another question, since I'm going to have the car taken into a shop. If i have them replace both the master and slave cylinders, is it just as easy to replace the release bearing at the same time. Or should it be done when i do the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel?

Update if anybody cares...
Eeeehhh, i just changed the clutch master and slave cylinder, bleed the system (did it myself
). Spent about 300 bucks on new parts and tools, i was quoted 350~400, so i saved about 50 bucks plus got new toys.
But the bad news is that i'm still getting the same symptoms and i assume it's a worn release bearing. But time will only tell as i have to wait for my new clutch and flywheel to come in before i can start driving my car again

to make sure that you did it right.. have somebody depress the clutch pedal in your car and look at your transmission, the fork right by the engine code b18c. when your friend depress the clutch, the fork should move quite a bit, if it doesnt, then you prob didnt bleed it right.
Same thing happened to me. Just replace both the master and slave clylinders on the clutch and you should be fine. I had 82,000 on my 94 GSR when the master went out so i just replaced the both of them.
