I think this has been covered a couple times, but IMO parada spec 2's are laughable, I hate those tires. The es100's are'nt even in the same class as the spec 2's. The es100's are'nt as loud as the parada's, they do better in the rain, and I believe they grip better.

i have the ES 100's in the front of my hatch...(all motor b20/vtec 192WHP) and they dont hold traction worth a gawd damn. i spin all the way till about half way through third...these are 205/50/15 - granted they have been on about 300 miles. but still They better get more grippier faster, otherwise i will never buy es100's again

But the Parada is even worse.

The ES100 is a great tire for the money. But for a high-horsepower application - especially for someone who spins tires - you need to spend more money and get better tires. If you're doing this at the drag strip, consider getting a separate set of drag radials. If you're not - then stop spinning your tires on the street! (And you should still buy better tires.)

I assume from your earlier post that you're looking for 205/45-16.

If you want a tire that is SUPER STICKY (like the Azenis, which doesn't come in that size), and you don't mind that it will wear fairly quickly, then your best bet is the Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212, which comes in 205/45-16. You can get them from Discount Tire, among other places. And at $81 per tire with free shipping, that's quite the bargain.

If you want a tire that will last a bit longer, but still an excellent performer, then I would look at the Goodyear F1 GS-D3. As shown in tests on the Tire Rack website, the F1 GS-D3 is similar in performance to top-of-the-line street tires like the Bridgestone S-03 (which doesn't come in 205/45-16), but costs somewhat less. And right now there is a promotion that gives you $75 in groceries when you buy a set of four, which lowers the price for the 205/45-16 size at the Tire Rack from $128 per tire to around $110. Note that these should last longer than the Hankook Z212, so even though you're paying more, the per-mile cost is probably just as low if not lower.

Another good choice in this category, and similar in performance to the S-03 and the F1 GS-D3, is the Pirelli PZero Nero, which is available in 205/45-16 for $119 at the Tire Rack.

The Tire Rack website has test results of the F1 GS-D3 and the PZero Nero. While they don't have a single test of these two against each other, they have this test of the F1 GS-D3 against the S-03, and they have this test of the PZero Nero against the S-03.

Good tire, but not as good as the F1 GS-D3 or PZero Nero, and nowhere near as sticky as the Z212.

ive got the money but are the g-forces that much better than the AVS es100's to justify the $153 price difference shipped (total)?

Yes, the ES 100 was possibly the worst tire Ive bought. IMHO comparible to a Nitto NT450

I guess I'm having a hard time understanding what you're looking for. You say that you want a tire that is going to give you great traction, that you are really concerned about spinning. Which means you want to spend a bit more for a top-of-the-line tire. I gave you three great recommendations in your size - the Hankook Z212 (which is stickier than anything else that has been mentioned here, and costs less than anything else that has been mentioned here, but wears fast); the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 and the Pirelli PZero Nero, which are both stickier than anything else that has been mentioned here (and even beat the legendary Bridgestone S-03 in Tire Rack testing).

Any time a tire offers better performance at a lower cost than another tire, it's a better buy. That's why I recommended the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, which is one of the best street tires around, and was $110 with the rebate (but while you were d*cking around asking about other tires, that promotion expired, so it's back up to $128 per tire). It's WAY better than the BFG T/A KDW 2 ($118) or the Bridgestone RE750 ($117) and yes, even though the rebate expired, it's still worth paying an extra $10 per tire for the performance difference. That's why I didn't mention either of those tires that were more expensive and offer less performance. Get it?

Sure, there are some less expensive tires out there. There are tires in the $70-90 range (205/45-16) that are pretty good for the money, like the Avon Tech M500, the Fuzion ZRi, the Kumho Ecsta SPT, and the Yokohama ES100 (but NOT the FM901 that Dunlop is discontinuing, which is worse than all of these). But you're the one who is saying that you have a turbo and you don't want the tires spinning. If you want tires that are up to the performance of a turbo, then you will have to spend more for a tire like the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 or the Pzero Nero, or you can get the Hankook Z212 for the same money but won't last as long. If you want to spend less for the Avon or Fuzion or Kumho or Yoko, go ahead... but don't be surprised if you have trouble getting enough traction out of them with your turbo.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Integra21 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ive got the money but are the g-forces that much better than the AVS es100's to justify the $153 price difference shipped (total)?</TD></TR></TABLE>

No, not at all, IMO. But the F1 GS-D3 is worth the $184 price difference. And the Hankook Z212 will knock your socks off for the same price as the ES100; they just won't last as long. The Z212 is way, way better than the G Force - it's exactly what you need if you're looking for a super sticky tire to go with your turbo.

Well, you could have done a lot better for the money, IMO. The G Force T/A KDW2 is a good tire, but very pricy, and you can get better tires for about the same money. But maybe you'll like them and they won't spin too badly for your needs. Good luck with them.

I've had both until they have been completely bald. Actually I junked the parada's with about 15% of tread left beacuse they were making my ears bleed every time I stopped the car. Same size as you require (205-45-16). I had the parada's first, then the AVS ES100's. I just ordered another set of ES100's, let me explain why:

Parada Spec 2's - Used these for 2 HPDE's, one Autocross - about 18,000 miles total. (one summer)
Good dry grip
Not very stable in the wet (only good when they have more than 40% of tread lift left)
EXTREMELY LOUD when wearing down (anything below 25% of tread life)

Yokohama AVS ES100's - Used for one HPDE - about 25,000 miles total. (two summers)
Good dry grip (very slight less than the parada's at the limit)
Very stable in the wet. (even at low tread depth)
Very comfortable, not loud at all (I am speaking first hand, my fronts are bald and rears have 5% of tread life left)

Conclusion:
If you want a great overall street tire for the summer, get the AVS ES100's. If you want a tire you can track, try and forget about both choices and get a second set of 15's with Falken Azenis RT-615's. Neither parada nor AVS will satisfy your needs on the track. The paradas have slightly better dry grip but they fall on their face in the wet and they will make you want to drive your car into a wall when they wear down (obnoxiously loud). Buy the right tire for what you need it to do.

Cliff Notes:
I will never buy the Parada Spec 2's again.
I will never track my car again on either tire.
Just ordered a second set of AVS ES100's for daily driving

I knew I shouldn't have referred to actual tread depth measurements! I changed my post with percentages instead, thanks for the heads up
