I know this isnt ITR related, but i just got an ITR cluster to replace my gay GSR cluster w/indiglos(dont ask). ANyways, it appears that the wiring is different as the fuel and temp guages dont work. Neither do the blinker lights and the ABS light is on. If anyone has done this sort of swap and knows what wires need to go where i would greatly appreacate it. TIA.

 

Don't waste your time soldering/cutting the ITR motherboard. Do this instead.

1. Take apart both gauges (three screws on the back, then the black piece is snapped it, so push on the clips/whatver and pull it off)
2. Take out the gauges from each cluster.
3. Put ITR gauges in GS-R motherboard/backplate.
4. Snap black piece back on and tighten the three screws.
5. Install in car and enjoy.

 

So im basically gonna use all the ITR stuff besides the white part on the back? Im a little confused.

 

Yes. You use the white piece and the green motherboard from the GS-R assembly. I'll do the work for you for $5 next time I'm in orlando.. hehe

 

nope. i'll let you figure out why this won't work for him. actually..i guess i should answer. use itr cf bezel(another thing he wants). use gsr mother board and white frame. use itr guages. now go and swap the srs, brake,abs, engine, etc tabs from gsr bezel to itr bezel. put it together and put it in dash.

if he doesn't switch those tabs...i think one or so of the idiot lights is wrong. pretty positive of it.

Depends on the year Lip. I have this exact setup in my car. On my ITR cluster the brake light sheet was different and of course no CC light/etc, but I didn't want those lights anyways so I didn't swap them. I guess I should have included that but oh well.

edit: oh yeah, except for the light sheets ("tabs") our instructions were exactly the same...

yeah. same instructions but tabs. something i didn't know...didn't know they gsr clusters were different through the years or itr through the years.

yeah, gas gauge on a 95 gs-r cluster wont work in a 99 harness, and the light sheets changed (Seatbelt like in a 95 gs-r cluster is the ABS light on a 99 cluster, etc)

I *think* all ITR clusters are the same except the JDM light sheets (and speedo/needles).

this was a couple years ago. i actually had the needle between the N and L of ONLY in unleaded ONLY before i backed off.

Same here!!! I am going to buy a USDM ITR cluster! Thinking it should be plug and play?? But i guess not! Any more problems that i need to know before i do this too?

BTW, i have a 96 GSR cluster? Does it make a diff. also?

Well, i got it all together, i didnt see the post about the idiot light inserts, but realized it before i reassembled the cluster. Everything works great now and looks better than my crappy *** indiglos. Thanks for the help guys

LOL, i got it in Wes, im working on the door panels now. I have to cut the damn tweeter holes bigger for my tweeters. I forgot how tough that plastic is. Ill post pics when i get it all done. Oh yeah, let me know if you get a line on some ITR cams man
