unfortunately my 98 ITR was stolen in front of my friends house in LA last night and i know the chances of me getting it back in one piece is slim to none. after all this over i dont think i will own or continue to own an ITR anymore. i absolutely loved this car and i had dreamt of owning one for years. sadly it only took 4 months for "them" to take it away from me and i really think i should move on. i already have some ideas in mind but i dont really kno how much insurance will give me for it. i dont want to be cheated by my insurance becuase i feel i should be compensated fairly after paying the high insurance rates, can anyone give me any advice how to settle with my insurance and wat kind of value i can expect of my car? thanks -vincent

Good luck with the insurance company. I'd also like to know how much insurance pays for salvage/rebuilt title R's (since I own one). What insurance company?

 

im sorry to hear that man....where about in LA did your car got stolen from? my type r was stolen at fullerton, but located in 626 area.... im just curious if it might be the same group that stole my car...

Sorry to hear the bad news....

I hope you did your best to take preventive measures-

 

I think that you should be able to get near $18,000 for the Type R. Show the company ads where people are selling their Type Rs for $18,000+.
I had insurance through Geico and when my Salvage Nissan Maxima SE (the first and only time I'll ever own a salvage car) that I bought for $7500 cash was totalled. They gave me $15,500, which included intake, exhaust, and rims. I did have an attorney though.
On another note, it could be the same car thief "ring" that is jacking cars, but nowadays there's so many thieves, it could be just about anybody.

 

salvage title = not much, unless your very cunning with the Ins Co.

Type R is like one of the top stolen cars in the US... it's like in the top 5 in Florida alone and probably #1 or #2 in South Florida...

My Friend keeps his locked in a garage, another one keeps it in Storage and only takes it out for shows.. Another Friend keeps his in his Dad's Semi- When he is in town

I love the type R integra sooo much.. but afraid of it getting stolen...

 

How did you end up getting more money than what you paid for with the salvaged title?
