00 Prelude sh seats installed in my crx!
I have been trying to sell these seats for over a year but no one was interested so I decided to do whatever it took to get these seats in my car. Another reason is my stock seats were just beat. Everytime I got in the car I would get stabbed from a piece of metal sticking out of the drivers seat.
Anyway, after reading how people simply swapped out the seat pans I decided to give it a try.
Here is the passenger crx seat and the prelude seat. First things first, remove the cushions from the frames-

You have to cut all of the hook rings inorder to remove the crx cushion. The prelude uses plastic clips that are sown to the fabric.

Amazingly the back part of the prelude seat bolted right up the crx recline bracket. I just had to peel back some of the upholstery to access the bolts.

I used some safety wire and twister pliers to secure the prelude cushion to the crx pan. The prelude bottom cushion seems to be longer from front to back and doesnt sit very well in the crx pan but it works fine. I dont think my fat *** will notice
Here are the finished seats in my car-

There are a few things I dont like about this seat swap. For one the seats are set in a permanent gangsta lean even when set to the most upright position. Its not bad though and I think I can live with it.
Another thing I dont like about the prelude seats are the fact that they are much more narrow than my crx seats. I am a short stocky guy with really wide shoulders so it is hard finding comfortable stock seats that I fit in. Anyway, I hope this gives a little insight as to what's involved in swapping seat pans. This was much easier than welding and fabbing up brackets. I did both seats in about 4 hours.

Didn't you try them out before you went through all the work to put them in? Why did you pick these if you had never actually sat in them? Don't worry bout it man...you'll either get used to it or else find some that fit better and swap those in - you know how to do it now so it will be cake!

I got these seats from a friend for very cheap a while back with the intention of selling them. I had sat in them on the ground and they felt ok. I think they feel alot skinnier because I am used to my crx seats which are very worn out.

not complaining, nice car by the way.</TD></TR></TABLE>
They are actually 91 crx hf or dx panels. Civic panels dont fit in crx's. The panels that have crx embroidered into them are from Si models. My car is an Si, but I swapped panels because these panels had the cutout for a tweeter already.

well, most dx panels i've seen and all hf panels don't have the fabric in that section.
and, other than the clips in the back, which can be switched over, crx and hatch panels are the same (if you stay with the same seatbelt location, of course)
only reason i know is because i have crx si panels in my hatch dx. its funny how they panels say "CRX" on them when it's a hatch.

That's weird I thought the hatch doors were longer. I also forgot that dx and hf models didnt have fabric on the panel. I guess my door cards are special!

My interior isnt that clean, you havent seen the back. My rear shelf is missing and the rear compartment is really crappy. The only nice part of the interior are my new seats and the new carpet, and the dash is decent. But none the less thanks for the comments!
