From the picture shown there is no amber? But if I get what you mean is it the amber bulbs? If so just go buy white bulbs.......I hate the color amber too.

nah. you have to heat it and scrape the amber off. or whatever. not just change bulbs.

i ended up using some needle nose plyers and twisted and broke the amber insert into little pieces. the inside housing will most likely get all scraped up. it'll take awhile, but well worth the time and effort. Or try using a soldering iron to melt the insert into smaller pieces.

Only the amber section blinks. The brake lights are tied in with the tailights. The two work independently of the blinkers.

I tried to do it recently and it didnt turn out quite as easy as i thought it would. The amber peice is like SUPER flexy and wouldnt break .. the inside reflective part got a little scrapped up on the inside and I stopped.. Some kid on another forum says hes got it down pat, removes the reflecter and buffs them for $40 but you have to pay $100 anf get $60 back wen you send him your tails.

I thought id save the hassle and order the eBay red / clears .. DONT DO IT!! They fit like garbage!! BIG gaps.. I took them RIGHT OFF! there for sale if anyone wants em .. brand enw $100 SHIPPED..

I believe if you put the tailights in the oven and bake them at a certain temperature for a certain time you can remove the tailight assembly without breaking anything and then remove the amber strip. But I don't know the exact details about it.

please don't put white bulbs into clear/white housings in your taillights. it's illegal and completely blinding to drivers behind you. [/rant]

you run the risk of melting them in the oven for the inexperienced. i originally used needle nose plyers and twisted and broke little pieces out, but if i had to do it again i would use a soldering iron and needle nose plyers to melt the insert into pieces and take them out.
And yes, they do have amber bulbs. bought mine at a local perfromance shop.
Good Luck!
