Default GSR motor , stock gsr cams, stock gsr ecu 181 whp 129 torque.. dyno vids etc..

well last weekend we dynoed my gsr motor... we were supposed to tune it but because of a bunch of **** i ended up putting some stock gsr cams in it and just getting a good baseline to make sure the motor was running well.
Basic setup of the motor is b18c1... stock bore... jdm itr pistons... stock cams stock ecu... str tb, skunk IM.. profab header 181whp and 129 torque i'm going back on the dyno next weekend with some new motor mounts.. and after i put my buddy club cams back in .. and a new exhaust... to try and break 200whp with hondata.

hondata wasnt working right.... the red line was just a shitty hondata tune

here is a video of when the buddy club cams were still in the car.. it was making mad lowend.. but because of ecu problems the top end power was horrible...vtec was set at 6,700 and the cams were still making power... you can hear vtec hit about 30 seconds into the video

and here is a pull with just the stock gsr cams...

Hey where is the vtec set at with the stock cams? It says you have a stock ecu is this the P72?

Im also running the stock GSR cams for now and my vtec is set at 5400 rpms and this is on a JDM B18C. Im also running a blox intake mani, 4-1 header, chipped P28, Thats it for engine stuff other then my exhaust and well I dont have any dyno time with it yet I have raced a few cars and pulled on all of them including an 05 RSX-S. Your car is making really good power it seems to me with the GSR cams and makes me wonder what mine is making.

I wouldnt be scared to say that my car is making somewhere in the 165 whp range with just the bolt ons that I have. I need to get it to a dyno but wanted to atleast get a VAFC or something to do a little more fine tuning on it.

Good numbers with a crappy tune.. Get VTEC raised up and those cams back in with a good tune and should make upwards of 200whp.. Good Job!

Its possible with some decent tuning and open header which he is running in the GSR cam video if Im not mistaken. I think honestly my car is making decent power with the mods that I have. I could be completely wrong but my car has surprised me a few times honestly and as far as I know it has stock GSR cams in it but then again I could be wrong on that also since the engine is from Japan and they have been know for coming to the states with some performance parts already installed on them

What are your compression numbers with those itr pistons? I have a GSR with BC spec 3+ the car pulls nice but likes between 4k-5.5k....of course on a stock p72 ecu

If you got your compression up in the high - low 12's you would be pushing some good numbers.. just fyi.

ya i didnt want my compression that high.. trust me ... i rather have a perfectly reliable motor instead of making 4 more whp and having to worry about knocking on a hott day and detenating after a lot of run time... 11.2 compression its plenty streetable and still makes good power... if my compression was 12.7 i would only gain a few extra hp.. maybe if i was building just a drag motor i would have high comp but not for a daily driven street motor

only raise VTEC rpm if u swap in a set of cams. VTEC rpm u have now with the stock cams iss set perfect

y r u guys tell n him to raise the VTEC point??? theres no point to it, the primary lobes stop making power at 4400rpms so thats where VTEC is set at
