Finally! A New Complete Rear Swaybar Race Kit for DC2's!
I have been working with Charleston from A Spec Racing for the last couple of months and I am very happy with the results I saw this weekend when I installed the rear swaybar configuration on my ITS GSR. It is a VERY well thought out system that includes an aluminum brace for the subframe, backing plates to prevent tearout, pillow mounts, a Speedway Engineering Sway Bar, custom A Spec Arms and heim joints. The install was a breeze and I can't wait to see the results Tuesday at Lime Rock Park.
Enjoy the pics!

I'm glad you like it as well Jeremy! BTW, Great name!
I have been saying for months now, Charlestons kits are awesome! There is nothing else like the kit you have on the market right now!
It's one hell or a bar. Can't wait till he finishes mine!
He put a LOT of thought into the design and it really shows!
3 big thumbs up for http://www.A-Spec-Racing.com

No I will be at the SCDA test day on Tuesday May 31st. I will probably make my first race in late July or early August.
To clarify a bit, The bar is hollow and it is roughly ~27mm, which is around what the Realtime folks used to use. There is some adjustability with the bar although somewhat limited. As far as pricing goes I will leave that for Charleston to chim in on.

if this would work with the comptech sub fram reinfocement i might be interested, need to see how the 22mm bar does first though
In the second picture, what is the purpose of that third allen screw?
Very nice looking kit, got any pics of those endlinks?

hmm.. cool kit..
I wish I could get that stoutness with the adjustability of my Whiteline bar..

that is a "stay" divice. It keeps the bar from moving side to side, if were to ever want to

The bar is a 32mm with 2.5mm wall thickness. Which is about as stiff as a mugen 26mm bar and roughly half the weight. Price is not set yet as of this time since it's still in the development stage but it wil be around $500 range more or less.

First I need to know how far apart are the holes for the D brackets on the comptech brace. It should work though.

The allen screw are the retaining shaft collars to keep the swaybar from moving side to side.
Here is the same prototype race swaybar in the Hondata Race Car being tested last weekend at Buttonwillow.

Congrats to David Karner for taking 1st place and Derek for 2nd place for both Saturday and Sunday Races!

Looks like a awesome piece and something I'd probaly buy, my only hang up would
be if a 3" exhaust would clear it. Any ideas?

I believe it would, you would just need to be a bit creative with the bends over it and the LCA!

The complete kit weighs about 14-16lbs.
The 22mm ITR bar weigh in about 9lbs. so I the 26mm bar should be about another 2-3lbs more. I will give you the exact figure a week after the ITR EXPO.

The sway bar cleared my 3" exhaust, no problem.
There is some adjustment you can make by moving the end link from side to side (using two holes in the rear arm) and also there are two holes in the lever arm, so a total of 4 different adjustment positions.
On the track I've always had some sort of binding problem which has limited the spring rate I can run on the rear before the back of the car overtakes the front upon turn in. By replacing the front toe links and using the A Spec racing sway bar, the binding has been cured. Next I will now raise the rear spring rate to balance the car better and reduce squat out of the slower corners.

Is this the 1.25" with .095" wall thickness bar? I've been researching my build for the EF and have been looking for eqivalent bar rates to the standard 22mm bars so I can figure out how much stiffer the rest of the speedway engineering bars are.

I just weighed both assemblies on a UPS scale:
Bars only:
Mugen = 11.52 lbs
ASR = 3.66
Complete asssemblies, bars and hardware:
Mugen = 13.18 lbs
ASR = 7.80 (less LCR reinforcement plate...not required for Teg R)

Nice work on a beautiful kit fellows. These bars are used almost exclusively in most forms of racing. Adjustability can be had by buying an extra bar or two, which in actual fact are cheaper than buying new rear springs.
Also, for those of you who are serious about your racing and would like to get rid of binding in the rear, we have sphericl bearing repacements for the control arms as well.
