do i need an alarm if I have lojack?

I would definately get an alarm because it will function as a visual and audible deterrent that may prevent a thief from even trying to break into and/or stealing your car in the first place. Kill switches and Lojack will do absolutely nothing in that regard and should be considered as "deeper" layers of an auto security approach. This link well outlines the proper layers of auto security...

Also, even inexpensive alarm systems have a starter kill mechanism which will function as additional device a thief will have to defeat.

yes. my car was stolen a few weeks ago. It was recovered in time thanks to Lojack, but if I had an alarm my neighbors would have noticed it going off.

yes, the pd has to have a squad car equipped with the tracking system, and even then, that squad car has to be within a certain range of the car in order to find it.

Also curious about the cost of lo-jack. Just got a 01 integra gsr with only the typical honda cut-off system. looking at security options especially since my last integra was stolen.

I paid $500 when I bought my car back in '97... I'm sure that price is negotiable.
