Default MS1 drag hood.

I have this in the fabrication forum but figuered this would be more helpful in the drag racing forum. Finally, heres the current progress on my new front end. Since I have completely changed the chassis setup I had to sell the old hood and come up with something brand new. We created the base with wire and got the shape that fitted my eye. Everything has gone smooth so far. For those who are curious I will be making a female mold and will be able to reproduce hoods. Once completed I will be selling replicas. Pricing will definitely be very competitive with other companies making front ends. I felt there was a need for a hood that could fit 28" slicks, have full coverage of wide slicks and create downforce to help with traction up track.
I've been running the MB products 1 piece race front end on my car for about a year. Ever since I switched to 26"x10" slicks they have been sticking out the side of the hood and getting the side of the car filthy from burnouts, etc. It also doesn't look too nice either. I also wanted to bring the front valence of the hood lower to the ground for aerodynamics and raise the center of the hood for clearance issues. The front end has clearance for 28" slicks. This front end is very large and would fit CRX's and Civics. No companies made front ends with the specs I needed so I decided to fabricate my own to my specs. Please PM me any questions about pricing.

great looking hood but I have noticed you run a intercooler are you switching to liquid to air. Also I have noticed your fuel pump is mounted on your front cross member is that NHRA/NDRA legal? We have some placement issues for our aeromotive fuel pump. We use a 3 gallon fuel cell that is mounted in front of the drivers side slick. Our HOTROD CLASS CRX is pretty much the same set up as yours. Just want to know how much for your front end and where did you see in the rule book that states that you can mount a fuel pump on the front end of a race car.

Yes I have an air to liquid setup thats being constructed as we speak. The fuel pump issue will be resloved by adding an extra crossmember in front of it. You can mount the fuel pump in many locations as long as it is protected by some part of the frame. As far as pricing goes you have PM. Thanks.

Just an update on the progress of the hoods. I have pulled the first hood from the monld and everything seems to be good. Since I am doing this by hand and not spraying with a machine it is taking longer than I thought it would. I will be mounting the hood this weekend and should be able to post pics by memorial day.

1st hood has been completed and mounted. Added one pic. More to come tomorrow morning. Took much longer than expected. Will be testing hood this coming weekend. If all goes well will be producing a few more for sale.

More pics of completed and mounted hood have been added. Deleted old fab pics due to speed issues. If pics take a while please be patient. If pics are down check back in a few minutes, server is very slow today.
