TEIN BASIC vs. Omnipower... experiences only!!
i was going to buy the omnipowers because they seem to be nice, but i just read a post today about them not allowing the front end of the car to be lowered very far. do the teins have similar problems? which kit do you feel is better for a daily driver ED9?? disregard my avatar also, i'm not biased, i just like the dampachi cartoon guy!!! TIA
I have the omni power street full coilovers, and so far they have been very good. The front goes pretty low, prolly at the height of the tire even lowered all the way, the back goes lower and can tuck the tire. It is at a very good height though. Overall, I like them and they are very high quality for how much you pay.
I just got the omnipower coilovers, the front doesn't go that low if you only use the shock body to lower it. I had to lower the spring perch a little to get a good ride height.
ive had the tein basic dampers for about 2 years now and they have been pretty good to me but i think im ready for something else now i was thinking about the omnipower coilovers but they dont have damper adjustable setting like the tein basic

I personally made the change from the Basic's to omni sports. I love the dampening and spring rates on the omni's much better...yet the height problem is giving me trouble. I've lost all of my natural negative camber since omni just uses the same shocks from their eg/dc kit and just gives you new lower collars that fit the ef/da forks. That is definitely the wrong way to go about doing ef shocks. Ef shocks have a much shorter stroke than eg/dc's. Overall the omnipower sports performed much better on the track.....less roll, better response- its an overall good kit. Omnipower will be fixing their ef kit problems within the next couple months so stay tuned!!

I am definately looking forward to this!
i had the tien 16 poiint adjustable, but i sold them recently, they were cool teh car handled super good all and all but to be honest i didnt notice that big of a difference when i would change the setting on the dampening (sp?) force..
another thing on top of that is when i had them on the softest settiing i would still have a rough ride around town
so i had to sell them...
hope this helps, but from what i know teh basics are softer then the ones i had...

Its pretty close to the edge of the tire with 215/40/16. It could go a little lower but I didnt want to lose that much suspension travel.

so now the question is... is it worth the wait to get the omnipowers new kit?? are they THAT much better than the teins??

you can lower it that much, but then you'd be compromising the preload..wat the point?

I am debating over the Omni Streets or the TEIN Basics. The basics seem more street oriented and the omni's more for the track. How much did you pay for your basics?
