removing fender(need help)
Apparently, a while back someone bumped my car in a parking lot somewhere and it left a dent. I've tried removing the fender to repair it on my own, but I don't know where all the bolts are. If anyone could help me out on this I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
heres what you should do IMO:
- Remove your splash shields on the bottom & left side. Loosen the one on the passenger side, so you can reach behind the bumper.
- Remove front turn signals on both sides. Remove the 4 bolts (two on each side) that hold the bumper support on, which can be accessed through the hole where the main turn signals used to be.
- unscrew the bumper from the plastic stuff between the headlights, and unbolt the bumper from the fenders inside the fender wells
- under the hood, behind each headlight, remove the nut that holts the bumper on.
- pull bumper and bumper cover off.
- remove passenger side headlight.
- remove mud flap
- all the bolts across the top of the fender should be removed, under the hood
- remove the bolt that was under the corner light, as well as the bolt that was attached to the support arm sticking off the frame (all up in the front of the fender)
- using a small socket and an extension, go between the door and the fender to get the bolt near the bottom. there may be one near the top door hinge also, can't remember
if you do these steps, you will easily see them. The bumper & headlight removal makes things a lot easier. you may have to remove the sideskirt.
