why? and when I ask why, I simply just want you to state your reasons. It's easy to state a conclusion, I just want your thinking behind it.

Miata's excel in road racing and autocross. They are among some of the best handling cars around. It would work for drag racing but it would be much better suited on a course where you had to turn.

yet there has been 11 and 12 second 1/4 miatas i am not sure about 10's.
i guess thats a clashing of opinions cause to me, a rwd tiny car with a bigger more powerful motor . that would be the perfect setup for drag racing.
similiar to what people did with chevy vega's , or even the chevy luv's..

i'm not saying it couldn't, i just think it'd be an amazing track car. If you wanted to make a drag car out of a miata you could just put a 302 in it and have a lot of power.

that would defeat the purpose of the term import, now doesnt it.
its like rx-7's if you turn the motor mounts upside down a 5.0 bolts right in.. thats just not right... stupid ford lol

fast is fast, i don't care where it's made. I love ls1 powered rx-7s. The lotus elise has a honda/toyota motor (depending on where you live). We live in a global market and i have no issue mixing origins/brands/anything.

Correction
Miatas excel in RACING period
Drag RACING is just one form of racing with one very clear purpose -- cross the finish line first
Its a fundamental skill to launch and test acceleration
If you cant extract the most from your vehicle in a straight line than you probably cant extract much from it when turning, braking and rev matchin are thrown in
Master the basics before you step up a notch
I have seen too many threads of the "twisty snobs" who have yet to hit a drag strip -- and when they do they get owned by slower cars simply because they cant launch their cars properly -- ie 14 sec STI's
Racing is racing -- its better than a ricey car show any day of the week
