here's from my first motor... sleeves sank (second time)

the second motor (stock b16) just had scratched walls from broken ringlands...

Heres my blown motor.
A faulty wideband reported rich O2 readings when in fact the mixture was dangerously lean during a tuning session. I was too inexperienced at the time to make sense of the obvious symptoms and kept pushing the car.
The extra heat and/or detonation caused by running extra lean, cracked the ring lands on every piston.
This in itself did not cause any fatal damage. It caused alot of blow-by which lead to very poor power production and oil consumption. Not enough oil was burnt to leave a unmistakable cloud behind me.
I went on a long trip and on the way back I had consumed most of my oil. Again I was too inexperienced to realize the symptoms and drove 100 miles with what sounded like a pinging or ticking. This resulted in a spun rod bearing.
Here's a nice picture of a toasted rod.
And chewed up my crank.

heres a rod that came out of our old delivery truck (nissan hardbody pickup):
~160k miles with no oil change for 2 years!
and this didnt even happen til after we jumped the truck.
about 3 feet of air into a parking lot entrance, frame flexed on the landing, block broke at the mount, dropped all the oil in the first 1/8th mile....

18 PSI of boost on 155k mile old GSR pistons. In addition, they have 40+ dragstrip passes, over 200 auto-x events and about 60 track weekend events on them, not to mention a brief encounter with a 100 shot direct port, so yeah, they stood up pretty well IMO.
