Default My new ITBs. How to use filter(s)?

How do you run filters on ITBs? I know that you can put a very small filter on each TB, but I was told that this robs power. I was told that I should make some kind of box around the ITBs, so I could run a single much larger filter.
Anyone know if that is correct? How would you run filters on them?

I bought a set of custom made ITBs from H23vtecEG . They are made from the throttle bodies of a Suzuki Hayabusa. I'll be dynoing them later to find out what the gains are from them. What do you think of them?

you're going to need some velocity stacks on those itbs. i gained 3 whp on the dyno with filters off, but i don't mind sacraficing 3 whp for the piece of mind knowing that my engine wont suck in anything bad. i use socks style foam filters that goes over each tb. your itbs looks good btw, i don't know why he used steped runners.

I have ordered some stacks. They should be here soon. Do you have a link to the type of filter you use?

the step i sprobly just to attatch the itb...hopefully there the same inner diameter

slip on filters will work depending on what stacks you use ....

also thoes runners may need to be cut down abit to but only the dyno will tell whats gonna work..

props the h23vtec
its a good looking set up

ITG or Ramair should have the filter(s) you need.

Where did you order the velocity stacks from? I have been looking around for a while for stacks that fit the Hayabusa TB's.

Looking good

Hayabusa ITB's are bored off center, thus creating the appearance that they have been installed incorrectly if viewed from the flange. Given the particularly odd design of the Hayabusa throttle bodies, you can't exactly bore them to be centered correctly. The only other option would be to use off center bored runners. The off center bore can have it's virtues though, it's basically like automatically having one step in the runners (I believe H23vtegEG uses an additional step as well).

I found the velocity stacks on ebay. These: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=WDVW

I just hope there will be room for filters as well. They are going to be really close to the firewall I think.

Just a question for "tuners".

Is it correct that... Since the injector position is different with these ITBs than the stock position, and the injector will fire at the same time, the timing map will be off?
I already tuned timing on the dyno with a manifold on the car, but I'll have to do that again now that the injector position is different? Is that correct?

Very nice setup. Mind telling me how much he charged for those? I'd like to get a set of GSXR 1000 ITB's done up & willing to pay for qulality work.

nice work H23vtecEG.. ..still gonna order my premanifold for my 1000's from you when i have money to spend on things other than bills

the black thing with all the brass fittings in it is a vacumn log...most likely for the brake booster and other misc sensors...i was under the imperssion that i could use the stock vacumn hoses 4-1 for my map then use the other 4 caped off suzuki fittings to a vacumn log and run my brake booster to that ..what are the other 4 fittings for on the vacumn log pictured above?..i thought you only need 4 small fittings to go from the t/b's to the log and then 1 large fitting to connect to the brake booster?

the black box is a vaccum accumulator necessary to evenly draw vaccum from each throttle body in order to not lean one cylinder out. this is necessary because the brakes run off a larger vaccum line so you have to combine the vaccume from each one. Another way would be to run the brakes off of a external 12v vaccum pump. much more expensive however.

As far as filtration check out http://www.twminduction.com they make a Induction box designed to work with their throttle bodies. I run their 2000 series on my B16 head. hope this helps

people run brakes just fine just by using the same thing no need for big canister. as far as the extra nipples on the vacum box, you still have idle sensor, fule pressure regulator, and 2 plugs for emisions, so really there is one extra nipple there for any other thing that comes along.

Just put them on. I am getting a CEL. Just when I start it, it jumps up to around 3700 rpm and then falls down to around 2200rpm where it stays.

I'll have to find out why it gives a CEL and idles so high...

ITBs sound mean, though! Scary Can't see much, and the sound is a little different though the digi-cam, but it starts and idles.
