mini me semi done....new way or old way to take of pulley bolt
so...this 6 hour project turned into about 36 hours and 300 dollars more then i thought it would...lets start out i own a 1991 crx Si with 173k miles. ran great before i did swap. i am using a z6 head ONLY i decided to opt out on the z6 intake manifold and kept the obd 0 injectors. anyway it was just head ache after head ache...i ordered a z6 timing belt kit...when it got here i just realized that the belt tensioner didnt fit on my a6...i didnt even bother to check my water pump...screw it i was so pissed by then anyways...after i put the head on set timing it cranked up fine..but guess what! massive spillage on teh front of the head...after some asking on HT i decided that the head has been shaved a good bit so the dowel rods are pushing up against the head to much....so i took off the head again...grinded/sanded the dowel rods down..and scrapped off every lil black **** thing from old head gasket off or as much as i can without damaging the block...well finally i put the head back on bolted everythign back up...plugged everythign back in....car RUNS!!!!! idles great...fixed ignition timing...everythign is great CEPT!! im throwing a code 13.....so ...yea..more headaches...i guess since the ecu limits me to 3500 rpm for now it ll give me time to break the head in till i get it fixed....AND my head gasket is leaking again.....but not as much as before but its def noticeable but it seems like its coming in from teh side now instead of the front....ill deal with that later...taking off the head 2 times in two days pisses me off to much to even think about it taking it off again....oh yea i also have an exhaust leak...but thats no big deal the company sent me the wrong cat so i could only get one spring bolt on....anyways here are some pictures...btw my 91 si a6 head gaseket was made OF METAL!!!! and of course some composite **** but the middle part is all metal!!! but yea man one thing after another....id say motor swaps are way easier then ******* mini mes...going through mini hell...at least she is up and running i guess....
Mini me supplies!

my jdm floor mat knee mat!

good ole 173k a6

WOW wish i used seafoam on this before i pulled it off so i could sell it for more

of course the devil in disguise

weapon 1 1/2 inch break bar w/ 1/2 extender with 3 feet cheater bar.

weapon 2 3/4 inch break bar with 3/4 inch extender with impact wrench reducer w. 6 foot metal pole

still no go so finally this

FINALLY IT CAME OFF took all but 1 min of course i was stepping on the breaks and in 5th gear but with the 6 feet cheater bar seroius took longer to set that up
got the head off

man the walls are perfect shape i can still see some crossing

obd -1 p28 w data logging and uber data ZIF socket ready..to bad i think its fried..with code 13..

FINALLY DONE

so problems =
leaking cat
code 13 (probally ecu)
leaking head gasket....
ps: i had to over night a dizzy cause i fried the first one and overnight the vtec preassure sensor...now i probally have to find another ecu...thats about 400 dollars extra....yea sucks....
btw i did torque down the head the first time...would this ruin the integrity of the head gasket? this is the 3 layer metal gasket. i would think it wouldnt...but i really dont know what could cause the leak.

this has got to be the easiest way of doing.....seriously didnt take us more then a min after setting that up...
i was running 87 but decided to be on the safe side and go 93...because my compression is higher then i though with the shaved head. plus arnt the z6s better for modding?

hey how did u get the pulley off. i dont get it. i mean i see the wheels wont turn..how do u get enough space to turn the breaker bar (obviously u used a second bar). did u use a giant *** extension or what? idont have a long *** extension and theres no room in the engine bay to pulll it.
Is the head shaved? If so how much? Did you reuse your stock head studs because stock stretch with use and cannot be reused usually.
yea i have ARPs so its nice and tight...well i m not sure if the head was shaved im thinking it is since i got it rebuilt....i had to shave the dowel rods down a good bit..and now it seems like it seals fine..i guess the first day it just needed to settle. but as of right now the only semi damp spot i see is on the right side...but i havent gotten the chance to stick something past th T belt to wipe it clean and dry. so i hope that is it for the head gasket....now onward to code 13..i ordered a new p28 so lets see if that is it...
