Default Before and after picturs of frame pull on my crx (56k BEWARE!)

I bought this 91 crx Si with a white hood and some indented lights... i didnt think much of it... the guy who sold it to me said it went under a truck and the hood was just bent thats why there was a gap. So i bought the car for 1400. The car was in perfect condition mechnical. Pretty much rust free. of course when i first got the car all i wanted to do was mod mod mod mod mod mod RICE MOD! so i got halo lights....man after i put them on did it look worst...frame was bent worst then i thought...i also proceeded to buy a carbon fiber hood to replace teh ugly white rusty hood he slapped on. Man did i have a HUGE gap now from hood to fender... went to a body shop said i had to get my frame pulled and get front rad mount and head light mount replaced...after almost a year of having the halos i got my lazy *** to replace then...i hate how on crxs you have to take the whole front bumper support and such off to change lights... Now for some reason i got it to fit better then the previous owner...i managed to get the lights to line up decent but not perfect...anyways a year later now i got the frame pulled (650 bucks!) and the hood and lights look perfect now... the lower bumper is sitting a little low stupid mechanics didnt push up on the support when mounting it...so ill fix that tomarrow probally and there will be no gap underneath the lights and from hood to bumper....but anyways here are the pics...

AFTER!!!

by the way I LIKE MY HOOD SO EAT IF YOU DONT!

bump for oem performance parts

How much would it have costed to just get the front support pulled? Just that nothing else. Do you know? Or was that all they did for the 650?

Glad to see you got it all fixed. I agree, looks a lot better with the OEM headlights than the Halo's...and I bet it would also look a lot better with an OEM hood ! (You knew it was coming)

Looks like you've gotten back on the right path though - keep it up!

650 included new front rad support head light support, tie bar, basically a whole new front skeleton or whatever its called. im not sure if just a front pull was going to be enough. when you pop the hood you could see where things were bent. The radiator also had to be completely forced for it to fit into the 4 holes that hold it in place. If you looked down you could see where bolts and supports were bent out of shape.

i knew the hood was going to get flamed on but i really wanted a carbon fiber hood...but i also got tired of seeing the same old OEM cf hood. so i decided to get a reverse scoop.

oh yea the lazy *** **** from the shop decided to take a short cut and spray paint the parts on the car...i have over spray everywhere....

Even though i did make a comment about the hood thats not the thing to focus on. This topic is about the frame pull (damn good one) so lets focus on that and not make comments about the cars accesories

YES!

but i also hope this gives hope to some people out there that thinks there vehicle is to far to be saved because they think their frame is to messed up.

i also forgot to mention that the frame was bent so bad that i had to basically make ghetto rig the hell out of the latch so that it would close and latch down. When or if i needed to open the hood i needed to pull on the hood release while reaching for that gap and pulling up. another thing is that i bought a front strut tower for the rex when i went to put it on it did not fit. I need another 1/4 inch for it to bolt up...yea i was disappointed...but tomarrow ill try again. i noticed that some parts of my motor bay moved closer together like the wire harness is now really close to my intake tube it wasnt before. i also noticed that my stick (not even sure there is a tech term for it you konw the shifty gear thing ) is sitting a lil more forward then it use too.

one last thing i forgot to mention....i sold the halo lights and the black corners on ebay and actually sold for 30 more dollars then i payed for them both together

wow, looks a lot better! I recently but into a little fender bender with my rex and had the same problems, I had to get a new hood and I had the same projectors from when I bought my crx a couple years ago. when I started fixing the front end I ditched the projectors and went back to stock and I love the classic look. But now I see where I should have taken mine to the shop and had them check it out, cuz your headlights look better allinged than mine.

Good job, looks great!

makes sense, i mean if the rails were bent and stuff, that would make the suspension bent, and if it was aligned like that, you get the idea.

my friends del sol had exactly the same thing happen.. went under a truck, bent the frame and radiator support.. went to the alignment shop and half an hour later it was good as new.

i smashed up the front end of an 82 civic many years ago. the driver's side was a good 8" shorter than the passenger side. so, we chained the rear to a tree and chained the driver's corner to the rear of a work truck. pulled it right out, accordian style.

the wreck totalled the car, since it was only worth about $500 before the accident. so, for about a year, i drove a car that was worth -$500. :D gotta love a beater.
