Default Turbo+Stock R Engine+Boost Spike = Fun for the whole family!

Since there have been several posts lately on Turbo Type R's.... boosting your stock R engine, I thought I'd post this up to show you what happens when you run over 8lbs of boost and have spikes of 12-14lbs. Remember....my engine lasted a week at most, and I had the A/F tuned quite well.

Engine bay shot from last October: I am aware the engine bay looks like vomit. I guess this is what you get when you rush things!

Engine bay shot from last October:

Inside of #4 Cylinder

#4 Piston

#4 Piston

The #3 and #2 pistons looked very scimilar to #4. bleh. Such as life. Being built better, and stronger Hope you all enjoy the destructive pictures.

*edit: Full Race Stage 3 kit. T3/T67 turbo
700cc injectors
P28 ECU closed loop, Uberdata
relative fuel system upgrades.
Tial 40mm waste gate
Tial 40mm BOV

Aloha,
Brandon

Now _that_ is some detonation.

Lookin' forward to seeing it running again.

Boost spikes due to insufficient wastegate?

Can't wait to ride in this beast. Hope she holds up. Talk to ya soon.

Not good, my previous DC2 melted number 4 piston on Nitrous, pushed the happy button a bit much and the tune was poor

onwards and upwards for a better build

This thread was by no means to dig up words of encouragement from all of you. I thought it would be fun to simply post pictures of what boost spike does to a stock Type R engine since there were several threads started about it being a safe thing to do or not.

The guy that asked 'what did u do differently then everyone else here with stock internals?' read the first post. Boost spike = empty wallet.

It would be kind of nice to see the damage that some of you have caused to your block via forced induction and/or bad tuning.

Here's to a retarded thread that makes me laugh

Aloha,
Brandon
