What's the most WHP you guy's put down on a stock block? I'm hoping to hit 180-190. can It be down with a stock block........ My set up is 00 gsr obd-1 stock block, with head work(crower valve, valvesprings, retainer) 3 angle valve job, CTR cams... and soon to come skunk2 intake manifold....... Did a search nothing really usefull..... Thanx
dunno on an 1.8. I know a guy local to me that makes around 220whp with a stock 1.8 block, CTR pistons. Ported head, crane stage 2's, fererra valves etc..
And I make over 260whp on a stock K20A block..

I Made the mistake of putting the head back in the car as soon I got it back form the machine shop.... You see My goal is 190 no more no less... If I can't do it with a stock p72 block I guess I'm going to have to pull the head off again and do the block.... but If I going to go that route I'm just going to start all over and do the head and the block.....

chad put down 190 whp on a stock longblock B18C5 last year, and since then, I've seen three stock shortblock GSR's do it. All three were running with thin headgaskets and some milling, along with aftermarket cams/valvetrain. One was using ITB's, the other two were using Skank2 IM's. The one with ITB's was running a Toda header, one of the others had a DTR, and I can't remember what the third guy had.
I put down 178whp on a stock block usdm b16!
