hello everybody.....

this is the deal..... i had a bad cv-joint and the shop tryed to replace it with a 98 SR civic joint but the hole inside was too big and the axle was too thin,
so we ended up ordering a oem cv-joint for my spesific d14.

ill post some pictures of my tranny later today and please help me idenify it and decide if its good for the D16Y8.

best regards moshik galimidi

I don't follow. You have a D14 that your putting on a D16Y8? Or you have a D16Y8 and want to put a D14 tranny on it? If you have already a D16Y8 then why would you want to change it? Just clear some stuff up for me and other slow people alike .

Oh.. Oh.. wait. Just got it (I think). Your putting your D14 tranny on the D16Y8, right? May I ask why? I would personally stick with the Y8.

what makes you think that?
NEways... If you plan on putting a d16y8 in your you are better off doing a complete change over. Motor, tranny, axels, etc... This will give the most out of the motor and make the swap much easier.

Do NOT get a dx tranny. stick with the ex tranny, has nice quick gears.

well the fact that the motor will be out of the car, it will be easier to do a clutch, flywheel. and anything else. also when you d14 is out of the car this will be the perfect time to clean out the engine bay, add your vtec wires, and also do some wire hideing. then when you are done just lift then new mtor up, and set her in.

yes they are the same, but while you have it all apart you might as well get a lightened flywheel, and put it in there.

Funny. My D15 is faster than all of the d16's I've had.
