Weird problem: Rear Defroster and Wiper not working.
.
Rear Defroster light doesn't come on, and I checked the rear windsheild is not warming up.
When I ooze the windshield, fluid comes out but the wiper blade won't move. And when I put it to wiper in low-speed, it wouldn't move neither. However, if I manual pull down the lever, the wiper moves as well as in mid and high speed.
Fuse? Wire? Any guess?

nnoooooooo....that's what I don't want to do.
I hope someone can tell me a fuse at blah blah position and I change it and end of story.

Where does the wiring pass through on its way to the rear hatch? Perhaps it's been long enough that some of the older R's are starting to wear some wiring?
Example - the wires for rear defrost/wiper/license plate lights passes through the hinges of the tailgate on my wagon. Over time these can fray/wear, and that stuff stops working.

I'm gonna rip out my center console first and see if the connector is loose or something for the rear defrost....but the wiper, wth is problem when some work some doesnt?

Since I am returning it to stock, I removed the sound system as well...I thought this may solve the grounding issue by clearing up the wires, but the problem persists.
Where is the grounding point for these two devices?

Bbasso busted out the testing kit and we are still clueless...
There are 4 things that don't work:
1. Wiper in Intermediate mode
2. Rear Defrost (The switch works as it lights up in Bbasso's car)
3. Dome Light
4. Hatch Light
They will work if I arm the alarm right. My alarm's been acting strange lately, if I simply arm it, it will unlock my car by itself after 20 sec. If I then lock the car by key and arm and unarm then start up the car, all 4 above mentioned items will work.
Faulty Alarm? We thought it was and ripped the whole thing out, that alarm sucked ***** anyway. Problem is still there, and now there are no way for me to figure it out. There are no shorts or wire touching anywhere behind the dash, the radio, the steering column...etc.
We even tested the fuse box and all seemed fine.
Any hints?

Wiper doesnt work in Intermediate mode, the slowest one. And won't work when I spray windshield fluid.
However, if my alarm armed right, the wiper will work perfectly, so it's not the wiper motor.
There must be a line or fuse that has link to all 4 items.

just some more details to help other people diagnose...
The dome light has no power,
rear defogger has power,
door pin does not activate dome light,
all wires from alarm had a good connection , now it's out and all connection securely wrapped,
and all the wires for the radio are in order, nothing silly.

To me it sounds like multiple relays are failing under the hood.. but that's doubtful, unless there was some failure inside the fusebox itself. Maybe the box has a grounding issue or something, that would cause some of that stuff to act goofy.
