Default What I've been spending all my money on this winter aka Built/boosted d-series...

I finally got all my equipment together, and I'm starting to build (another) boosted d-series. My current setup is a d16y8, stock internals with a 14b turbo setup, walbro 255, dsm 450's, JRC FMIC and uberdata. I picked up another super clean y8 longblock late last year and have been piling stuff up ever since. So far I have the motor torn down, notched, and ready to go get honed/bead blasted. Heres what I currently have going together, and some pix:

-d16y8 longblock
-arp headstuds
-acl rod bearings
-acl main bearings
-new timing belt/water pump
-full gasket kit
-Eagle Rods
-Vitara pistons (standard bore)
-Hastings rings
-Greddy type RS BOV
-BMC Log mani
-16g turbo/housing
-ACT clutch (beefiest unsprung disc they make)
-Test pipe
-Braided fuel line (buying GE fuel rail soon)
-oil pressure sender relocator kit (to firewall)

I'm shooting for 300hp with this setup, and this is my only car/daily driver. I opted for the disc clutch for that reason....Pix:

I'll keep this updated as I go along. Heres a pic of my car from last year. Its going to look alot different this year...

i'm pretty sure if people have made 250whp with the greddy kit then a 16g can get close to 300whp

Yes, a 16g will support 300 hp. The EVO316g can support close to 400hp.

Yeah it should no problem...I was gonna go big 16g, but I was told there would be too much lag. I remember you from the meet...VSM coupe, boosted...nice car! Hopefully I'll get out that way this summer....I'm back in NY now.

I've been boosted for awhile....this is just a whole new motor/turbo setup to drop in soon...I hope!

Update...everything is ready to go in, but someone is helping me with the internals. Its my first build and I only wanna build this one once Block was hot tanked and honed, notched and painted a bit. Should be together within the next week or so. I'll get a bunch of pix up as well as the new turbo setup...

Finally more to add. Motor is still not done. Today My freind Daryl and I installed the new turbo setup on my current motor. This way when the new motor is done, it'll just all go together. I think the DP came out awesome. On with the pix:

Took the old turbo setup off....just my car chillin:

Daryl doin his thing...I personally can't weld for ****:

Test fitting everything, and partially finished DP:

New pipe hangin, old crappy dp hanging out of the way:

New pipe ready for o2 bung...I guess thats a bunghole :

New Greddy RS in place. The charge pipe is going to be powdercoated:

All together:

Dude we have the exact same build it is sickening. Only I have a super 16G..

I have the standard 16G on my stock motor... the Super 16g supports 400 whp.

The only different thing we have is the rods, I have crower, you have eagle. I even have the same manifold.

Super 16g? I assume you mean the EVO3 16g. There are 3 DSM 16g's: small 16g, big 16g, and the EVO3 16g.
