stock seat weight
ive been looking at aftermarket seats for 2 reasons. just something fresh in the car, and weight reduction.
how much does a leather 95 LS seat weigh? i dont have access to any kind of scale that would read properly and i know a lot of you guys out there know just off the walls facts such as this one.
my corbeau weighs in at 19lbs (http://www.corbeau.com/prod_index/prod_index.shtml). i was just seeing if it is worth it to get the brackets and a 2nd seat for my integra.

so if i already have a corbeau forza seat and harness .... should i just get another one and make a set? or sell it and find something lighter-weight?

Well do you want it to just look good? Or do you want to serve a purpose? You only need one racing seat. I agree it looks good to have two seats, but you have to think about the passenger.
Most people don't think they are comfortable. Will they want to ride in your car all the time if all they got to sit in was a racing seat? A Corbeau Forza is a competition seat, and it definitely not comfortable at all. It seats really low and hugs your sides. I had one as well. Definitely not passenger friendly.

I have a GSR, but I am sure the leather seats are the same. The driver seat weighs 38lbs. and the passenger is a few pounds less. I weighed the driver so I know for sure but it weighs more than the passenger on my car because the driver seat has some extra adjustment features that add those few pounds.

did you like your seat? and that is a good point. however i dont have passengers often, but im sure if i put a 2nd seat in i would magically have people wanting a ride all the time.

The seat was a very good competition seat. But it was a very bad street seat, not comfortable at all. When you first put it in the passenger area, people will want to sit in it because it's something "new and different."
Trust me, that will wear off VERY soon. In fact, it should wear out 15 minutes into driving. If you want to have a passenger "sport" seat, try to get a street style seat. There are a few by Corbeau that look similar to the Forza, but is a street style. That means there is more cushioning on the bottom (you won't sit as deep), and it will accomodate a 4pt harness as opposed to a 5pt like the Forza.

i had a 4 point on the seat in my old car. did i not have it set up right?
so basically whats going on here ... if i have the damn seat ... get the right rails and slap that bitch in? why spend money on another seat for me if i am cool with a competion(sp?) seat?

What I meant to say was.....the Forza can accomodate a 3pt, a 4pt, AND a 5pt harness, as can most "competition" seats. But at the same time, because of that center harness, it seats very low and is pretty uncomfortable for daily driving.
MOST street style seats don't accomodate 5pt harnesses because there isn't a deep inset in the middle. The entire seat sits the driver/passenger much higher.
So yeah, if you have the seat, get the rails/slider and put it in. Personally I don't feel the need to have another seat (especially if it's a competition seat like the Forza) as a passenger seat. For one, it's uncomfortable, and two, it's extra money.
