2005 DC5R, comments, opinions?
I've recently watched a Dec 2004 edition of Best Motoring. Although my Japanese is limited to getting me around JDM land: from the Hotel, to the subway, to some common areas, then back to the subway and finally back to the Hotel...
The DC5 looks different. I've finally gotten used to the 2000-2004 JDM DC5R look when they decided to revise the external appearace again! Apparently with my limited JDM speaking and comprehension I was able to pick out that they
sorry my keyboard is messed up...will finish...
Edit: (ok keyboard back to normal)
pretty much didn't change any engine components. They've basically tuned the suspension so that it understeers less than the 2000-2004 DC5R and they added forged control arms.
What do you guys think about the new "revamped" 2005 DC5R?

hmm, kind of hard to tell from that pic, but I'm guessing it has the same sort of exterior freshening that the USDM RSX-S received.
btw I doubt that's a DC5R pictured, based on the moonroof and the lack of badging/ITR stickers.

I like it
I thought the first DC5 headlights were cool...but those redesigned ones look so hot! Oh, the taillights too. I'm guessing Honda is taking some styling queues from the aftermarket companies.....coz those taillights look like aftermarket altezzas....even though they're OEM..

But can you imagine the insurance and anxiety that that would entail. It makes me cringe just thinking about it.

Well, I like the revised front bumper cover with the new airdam styling. The rest of the changes are too minor to really do anything for me.
It needs to be smaller and with double wishbones

If the US got the DC5-R, would could have this argument:
"Teh tYpe-S is faaar bettar than teh Type R. It is cheaper, fastar and cn be made to handel better"
What does that remind you of?
Personally, I think the DC5 looks a lot better than the DC2 from a styling standpoint. I never liked the front end on the DC2 tegs.

In the best motoring video they say "that the new R takes a little getting used to, but once you do it could be just as fast or even faster than the old R in terms of circut driving."
So yea, I like it. But I think I like my DC2R better. Probably because a DC5R is unavailable to me.

You didn't like the USDM or the JDM ? ... or did it really matter?
Personally, I prefer the DC2 styling. I like JDM for white tegs, but USDM for black...can't figure out why...maybe cuz I now own a JDM-front white DC2
The new DC5 doesn't really look all that different. It still looks ok - I never thought it was ugly really...in some cases, when lowered and tinted, with new 16" rims (we don't really need 17's on that car, do we?) - it can look pretty badass.

Which says something about how well the dc2r performed, or about how "unimpressive" the new dc5r is.
Progress, huh?

Actually the in the Best Motoring DVD the 2005 DC5R beat the 2000-2004 model DC5R on Ebisu Circuit in Sunny, dry conditions
IT IS FASTER! Then again Motaharu Kurosawa was driving the 05 DC5R ^^

So what are the performance enhancements in the 05 DC5R?
Or did the race come down to the drivers?
