After compression check car isn't starting, no spark
My dad was doing a compression check on my car for me and he just pulled the plug wires and plugs and did the test. He didn't pull any fuses or anything. Now the car won't start because it does not have any spark. Has anyone experienced this? Maybe something like the coil in the distributor fried? Thanks.

Make sure he didn't unplug the distributor or anything, when you do a compression test you need to disconnect or take fuses out so you don't have spark or fuel going in the cylinders while cranking the motor.Make sure everything is connected and that you are getting fuel and spark.
Everything is plugged in and there is no spark, but it is getting fuel. I'm thinking maybe the dizzy fried, but I didn't think that would happen from just cranking the motor without spark plugs in.
It's probably just like disconnecting the battery when the engine's running. Most of the time it'll be OK. But once in awhile...
Ignitor? I think the coil is more tolerant of stuff like that but I'm not really sure. If the injectors are firing then the CYP, CKP, & TDC sensors are OK.

I'm going to swap dizzy's with my bro's GSR this weekend to see if that's it. If so I'll be getting a new one off distributorking.com for $150. My dizzy has 175k on it so I'm sure it's a matter of time before the bearing starts going on it.
im too having a similar problem i was at a light a couple weeks back and my car just turned off. its turning over but i im not getting any spark. i got as far as checking my coil and its fine, so im thinking that maybe its my ignition control module is there anyway that i can test it or could it be something else

When doing compression, you should pull the fuse for the ECM/Fuel Injectors, you don't need to stink up the cylinders with fuel. Maybe he did that and forgot?
After not starting for a while, did you pull the plugs and check for a gas smell?
Any chance the spark plugs are not connected right?

I swapped distributors this weekend with my brother's GSR and that's what it is. Something fried in mine by not pulling the ECU fuse so I'd recommend it to everyone. I'm not sure which part died (coil, etc.) but I'm just going to replace the whole deal with a distributorking.com dizzy because I was getting some bearing noise (it had 175k on it). Actually my dad is buying me a new one because he's the one who didn't pull the fuse
. So make sure you pull that fuse when you do a comp check.

sounds like the ignition coil is shot, my car recently had similar problems. i had a spare dizzy, swap the coil and everything is back to normal.
