The Cone is totalled...(00-0572)
On my way back to chicago...coming into a left hand bend at about 50mph (70mph speed limit, but the weather wasn't great...though it was starting to get better)...hit an ice patch, rear slid out halfway through the turn, countered, spun around so I was looking out the pass. window at traffic, I put both feet in and prayed. I saw a Tiburon out of the corner of my eye and I braced. My front fender hit the back of his car and swung me around pretty hard to hit the side of his car. Here's the aftermath:

You can't see it well in the last pic, but the hatch is definitely not lining up right on the pass. side.
I'm pretty sure its totalled. I only had PLPD and comprehensive, so I'm pretty much screwed.
I have to take a break from school (UTI in IL) because I have no way to get to school. No way to work either. Anyway, I'll keep you guys updated.
-Andrew
sidenote: the driver taillight was cracked Sat. night by my g/f's dad backing his '04 Denali into it.
More pics (zoomed and cropped):

sorry about your accident - glad to see your okay.
What tires were you using? It seems like an obvious question, but too many people don't drive with the proper tires around here...
I guess it's time to go buy a civic hatch and get ready to swap everything over.

the rear subframe is pretty messed up, anything suspension related is gone...
tires=Yoko YK420s 205.50.15 (all season tires)
Kumho 712s 195.50.15 ("all season" tires)
The funny thing was...there was no snow on the ground for 5 miles before the accident point, and it was pretty much wet, I guess it was starting to freeze...
there were about 20 accidents that night...I was going slower than average, getting passed by SUVs as well as other cars...I guess wasn't going slow enough.

Have you ever seen pictures of my car after my accident? It looked a hell of a lot worse than that...Don't let this car go to the junkpile.

Don't assume it's totalled. Take it to a good body shop. Any body shop will be happy to give you a free estimate.

Take some pics of the subframe, inside the trunk (with the mat and tire out), suspension on both sides of the rear. Hard to tell anything from the pics.
Sorry about your accident. Glad you are ok

yeah, I'll do that when it gets towed back.
I didn't feel like crawling on the snow....
Another problem is I only get 3 weeks of from school, so I need a car by then. My parents are gonna help me out big time and loan me the money for another car while I part this one out...

Even if it is totalled, I wouldn't be so quick to part too much of it out.
Just find an Integra or EG shell and swap in all the motor/tranny, seats etc.

Hey Andrew, doesn't look too bad...I thought it a lot worse the way you were describing it....I can call up my friend Roy and have him take a look at it....when do you plan on having it back at your house....I could have him come out and give you a estimate...but if you plan on swaping everything out ......I think Lucas's CRX needs some Type R love....
Also I think to remember the cone your Type R wing should be put on my R....
I smell part swap time..

The pictures don't look too bad damage wise but you never know until it gets taken apart. A bent frame will bring the possibility of it being written-off much closer. Sorry to hear. Quite a risk you took driving with no collision. Hope everything works out for you. All the best.
the frame is definitely bent/twisted, I could see the upper arm pulled the unibody out a bit and the subframe was twisted from another pic I found on my camera...full res versionof that will be up as soon as possible...
full coverage for 6 months = $6,000.00 I couldn't afford it. I knew the risk though.
Zyg, I drove it off to the side, and it felt like I had rear wheel steering and when I put on the brakes I could feel as sorts of nasty things happening...its definitely not safe to drive...

No offense, but I thought mine was bad.
I would listen to the others on here and get it towed to a reliable shop for a good estimate and evaluation. The car is not dead yet! Good luck. Keep us all posted.
Aloha,
Brandon
