OK W T F my car is slower and slower, HELP me please!
Heres the situation, I have now 22100 miles and it feels like its draging its ***.
its been getting slower ever since 14000 and I changed the plugs at 17000 and I do the oil every 2500 the air filter is clean and nothing else is shows up as worn or broken.
Could it be that the valves are way off?
What else could it be?
PS I had trouble blowing off a 4cyl accord he was 2 cars behind me and I was in 3rd gear I mean my foot was in the bumper I pressed so hard on the gas pedal and I went NO where. Now don't blame my driving skills, I know how to pass othere cars...

I've heard of cats clogging up due to a rich mixture.
THis happens over time of course.
Maybe 20hp loss... didnt someone here have the same situation?

you have 21k....and never done a valve adjustment? sounds like thats the problem...should be around $100 at the stealership...bit cheaper at other shops.

Don't need to dyno, in the summer or second day at raceway i ran 14.7 and 14.8s at the end of the season the best i could get was 15.1 and 15.2
So i can see the diff and feel the differnce and its still stock.
I should try the vavles first and go from there?

I just got my valves adjusted....and the difference is definitely felt once I get into VTEC. I have almost 30K miles (yeh, I know I waited too long). But, the car is back to it's normal self now, fast !
really?, NICE to hear that.
I'll be doing a Vavle adj tomorrow!!!!!!!!
thanks David, glad I caught you.

i'm assuming you also did the rest with the plugs too right? wires, cap rotor? my rotor had a small chip in it before and when i replaced it i got like 4mpg plus nice and free revving
I had a similar situation. To me my car felt slower and slower, then after a while, I figured out it wasn't getting slower, it was just I got to use to it, and it didn't feel as fast as when I first got it.
Have you ever bottomed out on anything? Might want to make sure there are no signifigant dents in yer exhaust system, which would rob power like crazy.
Hey Rob,
I'm getting my valve adjustment tools tommorow from my friend, and I should be able to do a Valve adjustment with u on Friday or Saturday if you'd like...let me know

Fuel filter...
The black, round, metal item beside the battery. It traps "stuff" (trash/dirt) before it reaches the injectors.

There can be another reason nobody thought of.
I felt the same and the power loss was caused by the oem cams.. they were ground in, at least 4mm (!).. The valves lost some percent lift ==> loss of power.
I highly recommend to check this out because the head can be totalled at least through this..

The point of going on the dyno isn't really to tell how much power you have or don't have. I think that was suggested to you so that you can hook up a wideband to your tail pipe to see what kind of a/f mixture you're running. The torque curve will tell you a lot about what's going on with your motor. Another thing you can do it have your motor compression & leak down tested.
i do my own valve adjustments and tune ups. My buddy has that special Honda snap on tool for doing valve adjustments, it makes life much easier....
I can't wait till spring comes along, so I can do my summer time engine tune up, race preparation......
