Anyone interested in buying a Pyrotect helmet with me?
Mods, I'm not sure as to where this would go, so please move this thread if you need to.
I'm affiliated with the Imports@UCI club, which is the import car enthusiast club at UCI (as you can probably tell). Anyway, we're able to get an awesome deal on Pyrotect helmets, which are made by Bell, and I just need one person to buy one with me. Local buyers preferable.
You can choose between a white one:

Or black:

The price is $220 in CASH only, and out the door pricing. There is a local vendor here, and he needs 2 people at a time to give us that price.
They're very similar in design to the Bell M2 helmets, and the standard features are:
*Fiberglass construction
*Large eyeport w/ .125 flat polycarbonate shield w/multi-step ratcheting pivots
*Uses standard BELL tearoffs
*Snell SA2000 rating

Same here. I love mine. It was hard to find a cheap helmet that was available in black. No way I'm owning a white helmet.

Yup - I'm going to go with black myself since my car is black.
Also for anyone willing to get one with me, tell me the size and color if you're interested so that I can check on the availability.
Here's a sizing chart:
Measurement
Measuring the head is a starting point for the entire sizing procedure. Due to varying shapes, heads that are apparently the same size when measured by a tape may not necessarily fit the same size helmet. The circumference of the head should be measured at a point approximately one inch above the eyebrows in front and at a point in the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement. Take several measurements to make sure you have the largest one. This is the size to compare on our charts.
NOTE: If you have facial hair (beard) or an unusually thick head of hair, you may want to consider ordering 1 size up from what is shown on the sizing charts...especially if you are near the top of your size range.
PYROTECT HELMET SIZE CONVERSION CHART
Inches Hat Size Metric Equals
21-1/4 6-3/4 XX-Small
21-5/8 6-7/8 XX-Small

I have this helmet in black and it has held up well since I bought it last year. Only gripe is the thin strip of padding around the opening has come loose because I do not use the visor.

If you're going to say things like that, it would really help if you enter your location in your profile, so that it shows up under your avatar. Otherwise, we have no idea what area "local" is referring to.
What's UCI?

Ahh, thanks for the heads up. I didn't know that my location was not listed under my profile. "Local" to me means Irvine, CA, and UCI is University of California, Irvine.

I have the same helmet, got it for under $300 shipped and after tax. Obviously there are better helmets out there, but it's great for the price.
