i know this might come off to be a apperance and cosmetic type thread.. but i just wanted to show all the Z1 owners theres hope, afterall when it comes to turbo's...
im still trying to work out some time in my work schedule, and personal life to get down to the dyno.. but its running damn strong for a E-VTEC 1.5.
AND KEEPING THE AC IN SOCAL IS A MUST!!!!

z1 is the vx motor.
Is recommended that you downshift before coming to a stop so it helps with slowing down your car instead of relying on the brakes alone. I really dont know anyone that does this though. Most throw it into neutral.

Oh, I just figured changing brake pads was easier than a clutch
Once again, props on the clean single slammer
Cant wait til my grandparents leave for vegas in march and me an my cousin are gonna absolutely destory there 3 bay garage, me doing my engine swap n turbo and hes gonna be going all out with the rice

i always rev match and let out the clutch when coming to a stop...slows down faster and you dont really wear out the clutch, but you wear out your brakes A LOT less...i've been driving around with a 2 year old clutch and 5 year old brake pads...

Come on.... of course i am.. and yes, it has a hair over 230K... IT can be done.

as of right now, verified by my wideband, im still getting good fuel at full boost, at redline, so im not really worried about injectors or a fuel pump. so right now, stock fuel pump, and 240CC injectors.

DSM T25 @ 6 PSI... my custom manifold to accept AC, and no.. never thought about switching heads.. i have my hands on a JDM D15B.. just waiting to get dyno numbers on this funky *** Z1.. and then i'll swap it, and maybe go 10-12 PSI. of course then i'll have to step it up on the fuel, (i already have DSM 450's, but might also need a fuel pump).

Let me ask you this... which one is easier to replace.. the clutch/motor or some brakes.. Brakes has my vote.
Very nice setup on the VX. It is very clean, and it looks factory.. soo what is the MPG now?

thank you sir... just cruzing.. like at 0 PSI, with a tad of spool.. (crusing you still have some vaccume in asperiated motors) im still getting nearly 30 miles a gallon.. its those god damn red lights that make me punch it... haha, now that i think about it, i think the only time i "cruise" is when im already on the fly. red lights **** me off. lol

If you decelerate the ECU does a fuel cut and at about 300 RPM over idle a fuel cut recovery. So downshifting not only supports the brakes but also saves fuel.

you ever notice when you come to a stop, or just coasting, the idles are usually stay around 1K RPM.. this is why it does that. and yes, using your clutch saves your brakes.. but who the **** cares? im running a TURBO VX.. hahahha i beg another SOHC on the streets to step up.

The d15z1 bottom end is a great platform for boost, the stoutest rods of all d15s, but that head absolutely sucks *** and is probably killing power. probably isn t helping tuning either, isn t it a lean burn type deal. If i wanted to continue upgrading your setup i definitely would be hunting down ANY 16 valve head it will make a world of difference, next on the list would be a tranny and unless your goin to set a land speed record or somethin. You have a very clean and nice setup, just thought you might want some input
